Anjali asks her mother for her shalwar in her bathroom since she is running late for court. As her mother asks why she always forgets her dress and checks her grocery bag, she says she must be in debt, and even the shopkeeper will stop giving them groceries on debit next time. A new client is expected to come to Anjali today, so she will get some money.
When her father irons Anjali’s dress and gives it to her, he asks her mother why she always scolds her. The mother says Anjali has grown up and that he should think about her marriage. Father warns her not to discuss marriage in this house because he hopes she will become a successful lawyer. As Anjali leaves the bathroom, she praises her father for his broad thinking and says their times will change as soon as she begins taking cases.
Preparations for pooja begin in the Rajput house. A man asks his wife Nivedita about other family members, and she explains where they are. He asks her to prepare an aarti thali, which she prepares.
When Anjali leaves the house, her mother asks her to have breakfast first. She says if she delays, her client will run. Her chawl friends present her with a kidnapping case. She boasts about her legal knowledge and asks who is kidnapped. Friends say a goat. She scolds them for bringing such a case. As she bends to pick up her umbrella, she finds her scooter punctured. Yuvraj’s friend gets her out of the pool. Yuvraj tries to stop Padma, but she runs away. His friends follow her.
When his sister sees them, she stops Yuvraj and tells him the girl is Aman’s housemaid. Aman’s friends continue to chase Padma. While trying to drag her scooter between traffic jams, Padma is harassed by beggars. She scolds and shoos them off. When she notices Padma being chased by goons, she sees an opportunity and rushes to rescue her. Padma embraces her.
