The episode begins with Rajini finally addressing the chawl residents. Aware of their confusion after the sudden halt of the celebration, she adopts a calm and reassuring tone. Rajini claims that everything she is doing is for their future. She explains the legal procedures supposedly required to save the chawl from redevelopment, carefully acknowledging the residents’ emotional attachment to the place. She reminds them that the chawl is not just bricks and walls but a lifetime of memories, cleverly validating their feelings to win their confidence.
Rajini then presents a set of documents, claiming that signing them will permanently stop redevelopment. Adding another layer to her strategy, she says the papers should be read by someone the chawl residents trust completely. Without hesitation, she points to Anupama and openly declares that everyone trusts her the most. The responsibility and pressure immediately fall on Anupama’s shoulders.
The residents show blind faith and are ready to sign the documents without question. Anupama, however, stops them firmly.
