Amma angrily reminds her of the consequences of her escape from school—her father, Girdhar, faced public humiliation. While Appu lied to her mother over the phone, the entire household overheard her falsehoods. Girdhar recalls Batuk Nath’s harsh taunts.

Madhu confronts Appu, demanding the truth. Appu pleads for a chance to explain, insisting they only know a partial version of the story. She tells them if they believe she’s wrong, they can punish her. She adds that her father taught her certain values. Amma snaps back, asking if lying was one of them. Appu asserts she’s not guilty of anything shameful. Madhu yells her name, and Amma, furious, grabs a broom to punish her. But Girdhar intervenes, recalling the insults he endured. Overcome with emotion, he slaps Appu hard. She falls, dropping her specs case, and tearfully calls out to him. Girdhar refuses to acknowledge her as his daughter and storms out.

Madhu urges Appu to follow him. Appu chases after Girdhar on the road, nearly getting hit by a car. The driver scolds her as Girdhar turns around. Appu begs him to listen, but he accuses her of lying again and threatens that if she follows him, she’ll see his dead face. Shattered, Appu collapses, weeping to the tune of “Naina” as she remembers his harsh words.

Neil and Sangeeta arrive. Neil asks if she’s okay, and Appu confesses that her father is broken because of her actions. Neil reassures her that Girdhar will return and urges her to come back home. As she walks, Appu glances behind in hope. Girdhar, meanwhile, walks aimlessly down the road, haunted by past memories with her. Appu clutches her specs box and cries outside their home.

By morning, Sangeeta tries to feed Appu, who still hasn’t eaten. She wonders aloud about Girdhar’s whereabouts. Madhu anxiously waits, and Renu offers her tea, which she refuses. Amma remarks that Girdhar is deeply wounded emotionally.

Finally, Girdhar returns. He looks at Appu but says nothing. Madhu questions where he had been and notes his red eyes. He assures her he’s fine and retreats to his room. Appu isolates herself in her room, shutting the door behind her. Later, Renu’s husband greets Amma and inquires about Girdhar. Amma confirms he’s back, and Madhu brings out breakfast. Neil takes food to Appu, saying she hasn’t eaten since last night. However, Girdhar stops eating.

Neil checks Appu’s room but finds it empty. Sangeeta says she left for school. On the road, Appu is confronted by Sanjay and Mohit, who mock her, saying that the higher she tries to fly, the more disgrace she brings to her father. In a moment of emotional turmoil, Appu runs directly in front of a bike.
