Apollena inquires about the distance she has covered, to which Girdhar replies that it was 5 kilometres. Feeling proud of her endurance, she exclaims that she did not feel tired or breathless. She then jokingly requests a reward for her achievement. Girdhar offers her a rocket toffee as a reward and reminds her to drink some water.
“He acknowledges that you have matured but still indulges in treats. She clarifies that it’s not just for treats but for your gratitude. He agrees and kindly requests her not to spoil him. Then, he inquires if you’re ready for your JEE exam. She confirms that she is. He then reminded her to arrive 15 minutes early to the exam location. After their conversation, he proceeds to open his shop.”
Upon arriving home, Apollena is greeted by Amma’s inquiries about her hurried arrival and whereabouts. Meanwhile, Neil can be heard playing music in the background. Noticing Apollena’s presence, Amma invites her to make laddoo with her mother. Girdhar then joined the group, reminding them that it was Apollena’s JEE exam day and that she aspired to become an aeronautical engineer. However, Amma interjects, urging Girdhar to also consider his dreams instead of solely focusing on his electric shop and reminiscing.
Girdhar reflects on the unpleasant memories of the past. Madhu offers to prepare a meal for her. Amma then inquires about who will make laddoos. Girdhar requests Neil to take care of breakfast for his sister. Neil responds with surprise, questioning if it’s him. Amma defends him, stating that he is a boy. Girdhar questions what qualification he has despite earning a second division in BA. Neil admits that he constantly gets criticized and walks away. Appu encourages him to support his passion. Girdhar reminds her to focus on studying for her exam while he takes care of breakfast for her.
As Appu prepares to head out, Madhu offers her some curd sugar. Girdhar mentions that after finishing 12th grade, she will be studying Engineering and won’t be in Chitrakoot anymore. Amma asks if Girdhar went to get an auto rickshaw for her, to which he replies by asking Madhu to give Amma some sugar curd. Madhu points out that he could even use some of them.
During Appu’s JEE exam, the invigilator announced that the allotted time was over, and it was now time to submit the answer sheet. As Appu handed in her exam paper, she said a quick prayer to Ram ji. Someone informed her that the Principal Madam had summoned her to the chemistry lab.
Girdhar inquires why the Principal summoned him, to which she responds that Apollena is a competent student. However, she has summoned him to relay unfortunate news. The principal explained that two students had chosen home science over science. Girdhar expresses his disappointment, stating that Appu dreams of becoming a “rocket girl” and is determined to pursue science. Nevertheless, the Principal discloses that the school management has decided to shut down the science department due to low enrollment, making Girdhar the only remaining student.
Apollena is taken aback. She inquires about the next steps. The principal then instructs Girdhar to enrol her in a different school. Girdhar urges her to take some action. However, the principal informs them that she cannot help and apologizes. As they look around, they notice the staff locks the chemistry lab. This sight brings tears to Apollena’s eyes.
The words of Girdhar echo in her mind. He had attempted to secure admission for Apollena in college, but unfortunately, she could not be admitted during the midterm. He lamented how they were stuck in Chitrakoot, where girls either didn’t choose the science stream or struggled to get into mid-semester. Madhu interjects with Amma’s suggestion of enrolling Apollena in home science. However, Girdhar is determined that his daughter will not study home science.
Laali, a neighbour, visits and negotiates with Madhu about the tailoring materials. She then brings up Girdhar’s financial situation and compliments her son, calling him a topper. After leaving, Girdhar points out that her son is not at the top like his daughter. Madhu urges Appu to listen, but Appu declines and says that another opens when one path is closed.
Girdhar inquires about your thoughts. They go to the college and observe the boys performing stunts on the road. Girdhar reprimands one of the boys for his dangerous behaviour. The boy replies that no one was hurt. Girdhar then strikes him with an open hand and questions if he is Batuk Nath’s son, reminding him of his mother’s admiration and disappointment in his actions. However, the boy continues to behave disrespectfully towards Girdhar. Apollena interjects by asking if his parents neglected to teach him proper manners, but the boy persists in his rude demeanour before walking away.
Girdhar informs Apollena that they are currently at the college. After she asks him to trust her, Girdhar bids her farewell and leaves. Appu considers Girdhar’s advice and enters the college. Upon entering, Appu sees a large group of boys. Girdhar waves goodbye to her. Later, Apollena arrives at the boys’ college and attempts to enrol. The principal questions her decision, asking if her mother is as educated as her father. In response, Apollena credits both her parents for her accomplishments. However, the principal declines to admit her and tells her to leave.
