Vikram suggests to Anurag that he visit Rajesh’s house and extend an invitation for dinner. It would be nice to bring along some gifts as well. Anurag responds, saying he will only go if it is customary. Aarti expresses surprise, stating she never imagined they would treat someone like Durga as a respected guest in their home. Bai chimes in, mentioning how Vikram has been raised with her motherly care and guidance. Savitri reminds her that she is the mother and queen of the household. Aarti turns to Anurag and asks when he plans on leaving for the city. He replied that he would return in a few days. Meanwhile, Rajesh catches Mohan talking to Durga and becomes upset.
Anubhav and Anurag arrive at Rajesh’s house bearing gifts. After welcoming them, Rajesh summons Meera and requests that she bring some sweets for the guests. Anurag explains that they have come to fulfill a ritual on behalf of Vikram and asks Rajesh to summon Durga. Rajesh reassures him, saying he can tell him what they need. Anubhav adds that they are here to invite a couple and suggests that Rajesh also call her over.
Durga discovers Anurag’s presence and gazes at him with melancholy, bringing back memories of Rajesh’s violence towards her. She questions why he has appeared, wondering if he wants to witness her supposed happiness with Rajesh. She ponders whether he believed in their love or lacked faith in it. Hoping that someone will look after him once he gets married, she acknowledges that, being a village girl, they were never fated to be together. With tearful eyes, she retreats to her room.
Meera heads to the kitchen to prepare some tea for everyone. Rajesh then informs Anurag that his friend will be arriving shortly. Anurag promptly responds, stating that she was never considered his friend. In the meantime, Anubhav extends an invitation to dinner for Anurag. Rajesh interjects, asking when Anurag plans on leaving as he should prioritize his studies. Without hesitation, Anurag reassures him there’s no need to worry about that matter.
Meera approaches Durga and requests that she join a meeting with Anurag and Anubhav. Meera reminds Durga that they are family and should not be disregarded. Noticing Durga’s limp, Meera offers assistance and mentions Rajesh’s wrongdoing. However, Durga assures her that she will never allow Rajesh near her. Expressing concern, Meera adds that Rajesh will cause her more pain for this decision. But Durga remains indifferent, stating that she does not care.
Rajesh informs Anurag of Durga’s decision to focus on their marriage rather than continue studying. Anurag suggests they leave, but Rajesh requests they wait and speak with Durga first. Meera then serves them tea and calls for Durga, who brings refreshments. Anurag averts his gaze.
