As Panibai halts Anurag’s path, she demands to know his whereabouts. He retorts with a curt question, wondering if he must disclose it. Aarthi steps in, asserting that he owes an explanation. Anant also directs his questions towards Anurag and notices a figure lurking behind him. All eyes turn to see Durga standing there. As Durga approaches the house, Panibai obstructs her at the door. However, Anurag shocks Vikram and their companions by insisting that she enter. In response, they immediately demand an explanation from him.
Bhagya inquires about Durga’s widow’s garb, while Panibai makes derogatory comments about her as Rajesh’s widow. In a rage, Vikram demands an explanation from Durga for her presence, but she remains quiet. Anurag intervenes when Panibai attempts to eject her from the house forcefully.
After his initial statement, Anurag confesses that he did not make the trip to Jodhpur. Instead, he went to Kinsar to ensure Vikram followed his commitment to assist Durga. Anant proposes an alternative solution, questioning why they did not send monetary aid if Durga was in need. He later notes that with Rajesh’s absence, his possessions have now become Durga’s.
Anurag poses the question of Durga’s education, to which Panibai cynically replies if Durga intends to study now or not, stating that married women do not require an education.
Vikram calls out Durga for lacking gratitude, claiming he provided for her upbringing and education. In response, Durga confidently reminds him that his intentions were not altruistic; instead, he used her education to pander for votes and gain public admiration by feigning assistance to a tribal girl’s success.
Panibai expresses her offence, stating that she brought Durga into their household and nurtured her. However, now Durga is speaking disrespectfully to Vikram. In response, Durga pointedly mentions that the Rathore family took her in solely to avoid being burned alive. She then turns to Vikram and asks if her statement is incorrect, leaving him at a loss for words.
Durga confronts Vikram about her father’s death, accusing him of deceiving her with the false notion that it was an accident when, in reality, he was the one responsible for pulling the trigger. Although Anant hesitates, he eventually confesses that Vikram did shoot her father but maintains it was unintentional. Panibai and Anant justify themselves by citing their benevolent intentions in raising Durga.
Durga is determined to uncover the truth about her mother’s whereabouts. According to Vikram, her mother took her own life, but Durga refuses to believe his words and accuses him of lying. She firmly believes that Vikram has taken her mother captive. However, Anant and Indira doubt Durga’s accusations against Vikram.
Despite Vikram’s accusations of blackmail, Durga remains resolute in supporting her education. She calmly reminds him that denying her assistance will result in losing his potential votes. This angers Vikram and leads him to banish Durga from the house.
Madhav stands up for Durga, emphasizing that she has an equal right to stay there, just like him and Panibai, a tribal woman. After some hesitation, Vikram reluctantly allows Durga to remain until she secures a place in a hostel. However, he states that Durga is not allowed to interact with any men in the household.
Anurag disregards Vikram’s authority and encourages Durga to seek his assistance. Aarthi and Savitri also express their solidarity with Durga, leaving Vikram both vexed and unable to continue debating.
