During a phone call, Ishaan tells someone that opening a medical college wing is very important to Yashwant. Apsara tries to taste her prepared recipe, but Ishaan walks away, confusing Apsara. Shikha says everyone at home is upset about the medical college wing. Savi says she’ll handle it for her.
Ishaan asks Savi what is wrong with her bruised hands, which are due to an allergy. As Yashwant and Surekha’s Kelvan ritual is taking place today, Savi says she wants Ishaan to help her cook something for them since he bruises her hands. Savi asks Ishaan what she wants to cook. The ladies immediately say bharli vangi/brinjal. Savi offers Ishaan a chef’s apron and cap, and he reluctantly wears it. The ladies congratulate him on looking cute in his chef’s attire. Savi explains her recipe. Ishaan says that is not how it is made and explains his recipe. Their argument begins. He offers to cook and see how it is made and asks everyone to move aside as he prepares the dish.
He smiles, remembering Shikha telling him via Asmita that Ishaan used to cook food enthusiastically when he was a kid. Shikha says Ishaan is cooking like an expert and praises Savi for convincing Ishaan to cook. Apsara says Ishaan is enjoying cooking after a long time, as she can see a big smile on his face.
After tasting the dish, Savi says it’s delicious. Ishaan also tastes it and says it needs garlic tadka, which he will cook since he has enjoyed cooking it for a while. After seeing Ishaan and Savi’s chemistry, Reeva walks up to Ishaan and says, “Let him do it.” Ishaan says it’s okay, as he’s helping Savi. Savi thanked her for offering help and asked what the problem would be if Ishaan helped a bit.
Yashwant enters and yells, “I have a problem. How can a director of Bhosale Institute cook food? Ishaan isn’t a cook, and he worked hard to get him here.” Surekha attempts to get in the way. Yashwant yells at Ishaan to stop interfering and to get to college so he doesn’t waste time. He chastises Surekha for backing Ishaan and says he won’t allow it if she wants women to work in college and men to cook.
Surekha scolds Savi for making Ishaan cook and asks if she wants him to follow her orders constantly. Ishaan defends himself, stating that it’s not like that. Surekha accuses Savi of trying to control Ishaan’s actions. Savi denies this. However, Surekha insists that this is precisely what Savi is doing and questions why a man cooks when women are in the house. Savi counters by mentioning how women have made incredible achievements, such as reaching the moon and working outside the home, but that doesn’t mean men are obsolete. In response, Surekha raises her voice, insisting on having discipline in their home and reminding Ishaan of his duty to work outside the house.
Surekha says she will slap Savi if Savi makes her taste Ishaan’s food. Savi tickles her, makes her taste the dish, and asks how it tastes.
Ishaan will not cook food or do anything that angers Yashwant, even if Surekha says it is tasty. Sadly, Ishaan removes his apron and apologizes on Savi’s behalf, as he knows what Yashwant expects from him and will not disappoint him.
