Jamai No. 1 13th January 2025 Written Update opens with Neel’s family devastated as they watch their house go up in flames. Gangadhar insists on calling the fire brigade, but a neighbor informs them that the narrow lanes in their locality make it impossible for the fire truck to enter. Refusing to stand by helplessly, Gangadhar grabs a water pipe and tries to douse the fire. Sumati breaks down, saying their house had just completed 100 years today—and now it’s burning down. Gangadhar instructs Manjari to call Neel. Manjari tries calling, but Neel doesn’t answer.

At the hospital, Neel consoles Riddhi, assuring her that Parameshwari will recover. He is unaware of the incoming calls while offering Riddhi a glass of water. Riddhi blames herself, but Neel counters, saying it wasn’t her fault and that a heart attack is God’s doing. Parameshwari, observing their interaction, smiles silently.

Neel urges Riddhi to stay strong for Parameshwari, explaining that she is still in critical condition and needs emotional support. Parameshwari silently acknowledges God’s sign and feels reassured.

Back at the burning house, Manjari tells Gangadhar that Neel isn’t picking up. Sumati cries out to God, questioning why they are being punished and lamenting that everything is lost.

Meanwhile, Neel tells Riddhi that nothing is over. A nurse informs them that Parameshwari is calling for them. They rush to her room, and Riddhi tearfully hugs her. Riddhi apologizes, but Parameshwari assures her she’s not dying anytime soon. Neel expresses how scared he was. Parameshwari then stuns them by saying she wants Neel and Riddhi to get married. Neel quietly walks away. Shocked, Riddhi asks Parameshwari what she means, to which Parameshwari insists that Neel is the right life partner and will keep her happy. She emotionally requests Riddhi to marry Neel.

Doctor Kavita pulls Riddhi aside and commends Neel for bringing Parameshwari to the hospital in time. However, she reveals that it was Parameshwari’s second heart attack and warns that she may only survive another six months. She urges Riddhi to keep Parameshwari happy in her final months. Riddhi is left reeling, remembering Parameshwari’s wish.

Meanwhile, Neel reflects on what might be wrong with Parameshwari. He fears that Riddhi will yell at him. That’s when he notices multiple missed calls from Manjari. Just then, Riddhi arrives and says, “Let’s get married.” She admits she still hates him but is willing to marry him for Parameshwari’s sake. She even offers him ₹6 crores for a six-month contract marriage. Neel sarcastically remarks that she’s already assumed Parameshwari will die in six months.

He then declares that he wants a real marriage, like his parents had—not a fake agreement. He says he’s willing to die for Parameshwari but not deceive her. He finally answers Manjari’s call and learns about the house fire.
