Jamai No. 1 17th January 2025 Written Update begins with Riddhi preparing to thank Neel, but before she can, he reminds her about the cheque she promised. Riddhi tells him he’ll get it after their court marriage and advises him to read the contract papers carefully. She clarifies that the marriage will only last six months, after which they’ll part ways. Neel agrees to the terms, stating that she’ll get what she wants and he’ll get what he wants. While Riddhi thinks she was wrong to assume poor people have kind hearts—seeing Neel’s readiness to marry for money—Neel, on the other hand, internally vows that his motive is revenge.

Riddhi tells Neel to meet her at the court by 10 a.m., and he reminds her once again not to forget the cheque. She confidently says she always fulfills her commitments, and he leaves.

Meanwhile, Kanchan observes Neel and Riddhi conversing outside a room and becomes curious. Simran tells Parameshwari that she’s relieved to have Neel’s help. Kamlesh casually remarks how Neel always seems to be around.

Later, Riddhi enters the room and remembers Parameshwari’s instruction not to inform Kanchan about the marriage. Kanchan, sensing Riddhi’s unease, questions her about avoiding eye contact. Riddhi deflects by saying she’s just worried about Parameshwari’s health. Parameshwari, watching from afar, is pleased by Riddhi’s lie and believes it signals good times ahead. However, Kanchan remains suspicious and feels that something isn’t right.

Neel pays a visit to Shashaank’s home, where he sees the family sleeping on the floor. He recalls his promise to renovate their home and buy a comfortable bed for Gangadhar. Sitting beside them, Neel reflects that while truth is supreme, he’s currently forced to compromise for the sake of his plan. He apologizes inwardly for lying to them and reveals that the marriage with Riddhi is purely a contractual agreement for six months.

Elsewhere, Riddhi sees Kanchan asleep and silently apologizes for not revealing her decision to marry Neel. She reassures herself that the marriage isn’t real—it’s just a necessary compromise.

The next morning, Sumati tells Shashaank’s parents that she’ll clean and prepare breakfast. Shashaank’s father insists it’s unnecessary and brings breakfast for her instead. When she offers help again, Gangadhar responds that he doesn’t want to be a burden. But Shashaank’s father tells him not to say such things.

Sumati later asks Neel if he went out the previous night. Manjari confirms that she saw him leave. Gangadhar speculates that Neel might be arranging a place for them to stay. However, Sumati points out that Neel never leaves the house without informing her—raising quiet concern.

At the temple, Neel confronts God, questioning why He didn’t stop Kanchan from destroying his family. He declares that while he has tolerated injustice for long, Kanchan has now crossed all limits. He vows to ensure that the guilty face justice and promises to expose Kanchan in front of her loved ones.
