Jhanak 12th December 2025 Written Update begins at the police station, where the inspector tells Jhanak that although she is a suspect, he wants to know if she suspects anyone else. Jhanak calmly replies that she does not suspect anyone. The DIG questions her about why she earlier accepted the theft. Jhanak explains that she was scared Rishi might lose his job, so she falsely confessed to stealing the jewel. The inspector asks if she believes someone framed her, but Jhanak says she has no idea about that.
The DIG then questions Jhanak about her expulsion from the college hostel. Jhanak clarifies that she was accused of performing puja to a skull, but in reality, she was praying to her mother’s photograph. She adds that she does not know who placed the skull in her room. The DIG sarcastically remarks that according to Jhanak, everyone else is wrong. Jhanak explains that she wanted to return to her village, but Aditi brought her to the Chatterjee house.
The interrogation continues as the DIG questions Jhanak about her marriage with Rishi. Jhanak says the marriage happened under pressure from villagers, and it was never accepted. A constable accuses her of trying to ruin Rishi’s married life. Jhanak strongly denies this and asks them to restrict their questions to the theft case only. She points out that multiple fingerprints were found on both the jewel and the bag, so singling her out is unfair. The DIG accuses her of taking advantage of Aditi’s kindness and still trying to harm the Chatterjee family. Jhanak firmly states once again that she did not steal the jewel.
Outside the police station, Putul expresses her concern for Jhanak. Dadabhai feels the police are determined to prove Jhanak guilty. Rishi reassures them that he will prove her innocence. He admits that Jhanak lied only to protect his job but says she should never have confessed to a crime she did not commit.
Back inside, the police question Jhanak about allegedly threatening Aniruddh with a DNA test. Jhanak asks how that is connected to the theft case. The DIG warns her that her education could be affected. Jhanak replies that she has not been proven guilty yet, so it should not impact her studies. A constable mocks her confidence, but Jhanak says living alone in Kolkata has taught her to be strong. She adds that she will accept punishment only if solid proof is found against her.
The DIG asks Jhanak to write a statement admitting the theft and promising not to repeat it. Jhanak refuses, saying she will not confess to something she did not do. The police threaten that her career will be ruined if she continues to resist. Jhanak stands firm and says they should punish her only after proving her guilt.
At that moment, Aditi arrives with Aniruddh. She tells Rishi that she has convinced Aniruddh to withdraw the complaint. Rishi is surprised, but Aniruddh says he agreed only for Aditi’s sake. Rishi insists that Jhanak is innocent. Aditi asks him to stop arguing and focus on resolving the situation. She questions Rishi if he thinks she framed Jhanak and reminds him that she herself brought Jhanak into the house. Aniruddh warns Aditi that Jhanak will destroy everything, but Aditi says she is scared of losing everything and asks him again to withdraw the complaint before leaving.
Aniruddh meets the DIG and is told that Jhanak is not admitting her crime. Aniruddh announces that he is withdrawing the case as per Aditi’s request. Jhanak tells the DIG she does not want sympathy. Aniruddh coldly tells her that only he can save her, not Rishi. Jhanak replies that truth is on her side, and she will fight for it. Aniruddh hands over the withdrawal letter, and Jhanak is released.
Back at the house, Neelu informs Indumati that Mishti skipped college and seems scared. Mishti recalls hiding the jewel in Jhanak’s bag on Aditi’s instructions and panics, fearing arrest. Indumati notices Mishti has a fever. Neelu gives her medicine, assuring her that fingerprints alone are not enough. Mishti breaks down, insisting she did not steal anything. Indumati comforts her and stays with her as Mishti prays for protection.
At the police station, Rishi checks on Jhanak. Sanjhbati and Dritimaan arrive to support her. Jhanak asks Sanjhbati if she doubts her. Sanjhbati replies that she would not have come if she did. Dritimaan says they came to take Jhanak home. Aniruddh taunts Rishi, saying Jhanak was released only due to sympathy. Rishi counters that she would have been cleared anyway because she is innocent.
Later, at Sanjhbati’s house, Kaka asks if she came alone. Sanjhbati says Dritimaan dropped her. Kaka invites Dritimaan inside and asks if he plans to stay in Kolkata or return abroad. Dritimaan says he has not decided yet. Kaka hints that marriage is possible if Dritimaan chooses to stay in Kolkata.
At college, Ayush tells Jhanak that he heard about the theft case. Jhanak asks if he believes she is a thief. Ayush assures her of his trust. Just then, Mishti and her friends arrive and mock Jhanak, calling her a thief once again.
