Jhanak 17th December 2025 Written Update starts with Rishi noticing a fire erupting in the kitchen. He immediately rushes towards it as other family members follow in panic. Arshi angrily questions how such an incident could happen on an auspicious day. The waiter informs everyone that a girl had gone inside the kitchen. Rishi freezes when he realises Jhanak is trapped inside. He repeatedly calls out her name. Others also spot Jhanak struggling to breathe before she collapses unconscious.
Without hesitation, Rishi breaks the locked kitchen door and enters the smoke-filled room. He manages to pull Jhanak out safely. Tanushri anxiously asks if he is all right. Rishi tries to revive Jhanak by splashing water on her face, but she does not respond. He insists they rush her to the hospital. Dritimaan goes to bring the car while Aniruddh asks Rishi to check on Jhanak’s condition. Rishi lashes out at Aniruddh, accusing him of wanting Jhanak dead. He carries Jhanak away as Indumati questions why he endangered his own life. Aditi bitterly remarks that Jhanak will destroy Rishi, while Arshi coldly assumes Jhanak might already be dead.
At the hospital, Rishi gets Jhanak admitted. Aditi confronts him, demanding to know why he risked everything for Jhanak. Rishi replies that he could never let her die and asks her not to create a scene there. Neelu calls Jhanak a curse on the family. Rishi warns everyone to remember they are in a hospital and reminds them that Jhanak sacrificed her place, which allowed Aditi to become the Chatterjee family’s daughter-in-law. Aditi protests, saying Rishi and she were together long before Jhanak entered their lives. Arshi intervenes and asks Aditi to calm down.
Dritimaan suggests investigating the fire accident. Aditi quickly blames Jhanak’s carelessness. Rishi reveals that he has already informed the police and hopes evidence was not destroyed. Aniruddh argues that only family members were present, not criminals. Rishi insists this is the work of an outsider and believes someone who hates Jhanak is behind it. Aditi questions why anyone would want to harm Jhanak. Rishi says that is exactly why a proper investigation is needed. He asks Sanjhbati to stay with Jhanak and apologises to Dritimaan for the chaos. Aditi again blames Jhanak, but Rishi firmly states that someone attempted to kill her and ruined Dritimaan and Sanjhbati’s Aashirwad ceremony.
Soon, Jhanak regains consciousness. Sanjhbati comforts her and asks her not to panic. Jhanak breaks down, blaming herself for ruining the ceremony. Sanjhbati reassures her. Rishi and Dritimaan enter, and Rishi asks Jhanak if she is fine while coughing. Jhanak, in turn, checks on him. Aditi and Neelu arrive, and Jhanak pleads with Aditi not to be angry. She explains that she went into the kitchen only because the waiter asked her to keep food there and she has no idea how the fire started. Aditi accuses Jhanak of risking Rishi’s life. Rishi intervenes and assures everyone that he is fine.
Sanjhbati requests the doctor to examine Rishi as well. Rishi tells the doctor about the incident and mentions a burning sensation. The doctor advises admitting him for two days for observation. Dritimaan says both Rishi and Jhanak will return home after two days. Aditi declares she only cares about Rishi. Sanjhbati reminds her that both were affected by the incident. Neelu continues blaming Jhanak’s negligence.
Jhanak recalls smelling something unusual when she entered the kitchen but remains unsure how the fire began. Rishi asks her to rest and leaves for his check-up. Elsewhere, Tanushri expresses fear to Indumati, questioning how Rishi could risk his life for Jhanak. She accuses Jhanak of bringing sorrow to the family. Dadabhai defends Jhanak, saying she is not careless. Abhimanyu informs them that Rishi has been admitted for observation. Tanushri breaks down in tears.
Neelu informs Aditi that Rishi has been allotted a room near Jhanak’s. Aditi taunts that Rishi will now take care of Jhanak. She confesses that she brought Jhanak home to keep an eye on both of them. Aditi admits she cannot stay with Rishi if he loves Jhanak and feels he has changed completely. Neelu insists Rishi is simply kind-hearted, but Aditi claims she knows him too well.
In the final moments, Rishi and Jhanak silently look at each other, lost in memories of the moments they have shared.
