Mangal Lakshmi 16th November 2024 Written Episode Update begins with Adit arriving home carrying an unconscious Akshar in his arms. Mangal panics and asks what happened to her son. Adit coldly warns her to stay away from him. Shocked, Kusum and Mangal rush to the room. Mangal insists that Akshar is her child and no one can stop her from being near him. After a moment, Akshar regains consciousness, and Mangal gently asks what happened. Akshar remembers the bullying incident but chooses to stay silent, telling her that he just wants to sleep.
Adit tries to comfort Akshar, reminding him about the annual school event and asking if he wants to attend. Akshar refuses, saying he feels unwell. Once he falls asleep, Mangal questions Adit about what truly happened. Adit angrily blames her, calling her the enemy of her own children. He accuses Mangal of putting Akshar in danger and says she will end up destroying their lives. Adit shows her a photo from a donation drive where Mangal was featured among daily wage workers, labeling her as one of the poor.
Mangal is stunned and asks how her picture ended up being displayed at school. Adit shouts that because of her, their son became a laughingstock among his classmates. He claims Akshar fainted from embarrassment and tells Mangal that she has brought shame upon their family. Mangal defends herself, saying she only worked to earn money for the family, not for attention or sympathy. Adit accuses her of doing it deliberately to gain praise and even suggests she was paid by an NGO for publicity. Hurt, Mangal refuses to justify herself and says she only cares about her son’s well-being. Adit harshly replies that Akshar doesn’t even want to see her face. Soumya pretends to sympathize, saying that Akshar must be traumatized and needs time alone. Adit agrees and orders Mangal to stay away from him for his own good.
Meanwhile, at Lakshmi’s house, she accidentally burns her hand while cooking. Karthik rushes to help and asks what she was thinking. Lakshmi tearfully says she saw her sister Mangal at the temple but couldn’t talk to her because of Gayatri’s restrictions. She says she feels helpless living away from Mangal. Karthik comforts her and promises to talk to his mother once she calms down. He tells Lakshmi not to worry because Mangal is strong and can handle herself.
Back at home, Ishana tries to convince Akshar to attend the school’s Children’s Day celebration, but he refuses, complaining of stomach pain. Mangal prepares lunch for him and his friends, trying to lift his mood, but he insists on staying home. Ishana tells Mangal that he has never missed a school celebration before, leaving Mangal even more worried.
Later, Mangal goes to Akshar’s school and overhears a group of parents complaining to the principal. They say they enrolled their children in the school because of its elite reputation, not to have them study alongside the children of laborers. They demand that Akshar be expelled. Hearing this, Mangal enters the room and stands up for herself. The teacher asks her to wait outside, but Mangal refuses, insisting that since she is a parent too, she deserves to hear the discussion about her son.
She asks the parents what wrong she has done. One of the mothers says that Mangal brought this on herself by taking up a menial job, which caused the other kids to tease her son. Mangal challenges them, asking how hard work can be a source of shame. She tells them that every mother works for her children, whether at home or outside. Another woman claims that the school should maintain a certain “status” and not allow kids from “low backgrounds.”
The principal agrees with the parents, saying that the school has a reputation to protect and that admissions are based on social standing. Mangal argues that education should not depend on status or wealth. She tells them that schools should teach equality, not discrimination, and that earning money with respect is far more honourable than being rich without values. Despite her words, the principal tells her to either stop her work or withdraw her child from the school.
Elsewhere, Karthik prepares for a shoot. His manager informs him that the concept has changed and now requires a romantic setup with Jiya. When Jiya arrives in a short dress and flirts with him, Karthik refuses to continue, saying he will not compromise his morals for fame. Jiya then reveals she is the owner of the music label, leaving Karthik stunned.
Back at school, Mangal overhears the same mothers gossiping outside, saying that they are relieved the principal decided to expel Akshar. They claim it would be embarrassing for their children to study with a labourer’s son. Heartbroken, Mangal cries silently and says Akshar must be deeply hurt by all this humiliation. Just then, she receives a call from Kirti regarding her first food delivery order, giving her a glimmer of hope amidst the pain.
