Mangal Lakshmi 1st September 2024 Written Update opens with Mangal reflecting on Adit’s heartfelt words. She believes he has a kind heart, even if he doesn’t express it openly. Recalling how her mother-in-law used to say Adit is full of love, she picks up flower petals and hugs them, clearly touched.

Meanwhile, Adit pulls Somiya aside. She sarcastically tells him to go back to his wife and get clingy with her. Adit confesses that he doesn’t like Mangal and only thought it was Somiya earlier. Somiya taunts him, saying she doesn’t reek of onions or garlic like Mangal. Adit says he was only pretending and would’ve avoided the scene if Somiya had arrived earlier. Somiya gets jealous remembering how Mangal hugged Adit and vows to do something drastic to remove her from his life.

Somiya heads to the kitchen and turns on the gas stove with an evil plan. She decides to later inform everyone and pin the blame on Mangal, claiming that she left it open and endangered the family.

On the other hand, Lakshmi is seen crying over recent events. Karthik finds her and consoles her, saying he too cannot sleep without her. They embrace as Lakshmi expresses her pain about being away from him. He promises never to let that happen again. However, Lakshmi suddenly realizes she was only imagining the comforting moment.

Back at home, Somiya returns to Kusum’s room and lies down. She sets a mental reminder to raise the gas leak alarm in 30 minutes. Meanwhile, Mangal begins sneezing due to her gas allergy and heads to the kitchen. She tries to switch on the light, and suddenly—a gas blast occurs. The explosion throws Mangal out of the kitchen as flames erupt.

The family is jolted awake. Everyone rushes to the kitchen in panic. Kusum screams, “Where is Mangal?” Chaos unfolds as they search for her. Eventually, Mangal gathers herself and instructs the kids to go back to their room. She quickly grabs the fire extinguisher and douses the fire.

Kusum questions what caused the blast. Mangal says she doesn’t know, but God saved them. She had only come to get some steam, and when she switched on the light, the explosion occurred. Somiya seizes the moment and accuses Mangal of carelessness. She suggests Mangal left the stove on. Adit agrees, noting the stove is still on and pointing fingers at Mangal.

Mangal defends herself, saying she turned it off and always double-checks everything before bed. She pleads with Kusum, asking her to trust her memory. Adit remains harsh, calling her careless and reckless. Kusum adds that Mangal also made a mistake with Sudesh’s medication earlier and urges her to take a break and rest. Mangal is worried about who will cook, but Somiya volunteers.

Kusum immediately declines, saying ordering food is safer. Mangal protests that outside food isn’t suitable for Dad or Ishana. Adit cuts her off rudely, saying no one asked for her opinion and insists that Somiya should cook since she’s practically part of the family now. Kusum eventually agrees and tells Mangal to rest for now.
