Lakshmi adds honey to Lipika’s juice. Kusum asks Lipika if she wrote sugar in the juice. Lakshmi says he sings, so he needs to take care of his chords. Kusum says Lipika added ice while Lakshmi didn’t. Lakshmi says he’s a singer. Ice is bad for him. Lipika wrote it wrong for him, but not for Karthik, Kusum says.
The person who cares for Karthik’s needs will be married to him. Mangal is also uneducated. To run a house, you don’t need a degree, you just need care and manners, which Lakshmi does. Teach it to Lipika as well. Gayatri says you’re right. Make her wear the bangles as well. Kusum asks Shanti for Lakshmi’s hand. Mangal asks why Karthik didn’t come.
Adit informs Somaiya that his family has gone to Mangal’s house to formally propose for Lakshmi’s hand in marriage to Karthik. Somaiya inquires if Karthik will agree to the proposal. Adit expresses concern, stating that it is unfair for another boy to be subject to ruined life by their mother’s decisions. Kusum interjects, mentioning that Karthik has work today. Mangal suggests postponing the traditional customs until the next day. Kusum reassures everyone that the elders can handle it without any involvement from Karthik.
However, Mangal is anxious and shares his thoughts with Kusum about how he wishes for Karthik to be present during the custom, as it is a significant step in their relationship. Kusum acknowledges his concerns but believes there is no need for Karthik and Lakshmi to talk again as they are already acquainted. She adds that there is no need to postpone the ceremony because of it. Kusum and Gayatri give Lakshmi the shagun. Mangal remembers when Adit wasn’t there when her ritual had to occur. Kusum said Adit didn’t need to be there. Gayatri made Lakshmi wear the bangles.
What if Karthik says no? Adit says Karthik won’t rebel against his mom and aunt. Somaiya asks what would happen if Lakshmi said no? Adit says she’s getting lucky here. Why would she refuse?
