Lakshmi reveals that Karthik has been having doubts about marrying her. She also mentions that he had tried to tell her numerous times, but someone had purposely interfered. The letter she received seemed to express Karthik’s love for her, but he loves someone else and sees Lakshmi only as a friend. This situation needs to be addressed urgently as there is no point in going through with the wedding if it will not bring happiness. Lakshmi pleads for someone to intervene and stop the wedding. Suddenly, Adit interrupts and insists that the marriage must proceed, leaving Lakshmi stunned.
Kusum asks why Mangal didn’t bring Lakshmi to the mandap. Karthik says Lakshmi is telling Mangal. Adit asks, “What did you say? Is it okay to stop this wedding? Mangal has only one dream: to get married. She fought so hard for this wedding. What will you do? You will defame us everywhere.” She claims Karthik loves another woman.
Karthik doesn’t want to do the wedding, Lakshmi says. He says I know. It’s his problem, not yours. He didn’t get his love. It’s his problem, not yours. Why is Karthik not stopping him from marrying his love? He knew everything when he was talking to you. Adit asks, Is she your stepsister? Mangal has done so much for you. Lakshmi says, “Please do something. If we break this marriage, only Karthik would be happy. Everyone else would be upset. You would burden Mangal, which means I. I won’t let you do that. This wedding will happen today.” Lakshmi says I can’t do it. He says I will also drive Mangal if you break this marriage. It is too much for me.

They all express their happiness for Lakshmi’s upcoming marriage in their family, with Mangal even hugging her in joy. Lipika reminds her of the waiting guests as they urge her to hurry up. However, Lakshmi tearfully embraces Mangal and admits she is not yet prepared. Sensing something may be wrong, Gayatri inquires about the issue while Kusum voices her usual opinion that Lakshmi always causes trouble. Kusum offers to check on Lakshmi herself.
Karthik says it is not necessary to call Lakshmi. She will not come. Gayatri asks why. He says because. Lakshmi arrives. Karthik is stunned. The wedding begins. Pandit Ji starts the mantra. Karthik sits stunned—Lakshmi and Karthik exchange garlands. Karthik is angry with her.
Does Karthik ask Lakshmi did you tell Mangal? She says no. Karthik says you said you would. She cries. Papa says you can talk all your life now. Karthik says I can’t let this happen.
