Mangal Lakshmi 5th October 2024 Written Episode Update begins with Sonu calling Lakshmi to wish her a happy birthday. He teasingly asks if she remembers her old friend or has forgotten him after moving into her big house. Lakshmi assures him that she misses those carefree days and always celebrated with her didi. She wishes Mangal could be with her.
Just then, Lakshmi hears noises and steps out to see the house beautifully decorated. Everyone shouts “surprise” as Karthik sings for her birthday. Overwhelmed with joy, Lakshmi thanks him with a hug. Karthik tells her he only wants to see her happy and even canceled his concert to celebrate. The kids and family also wish her, while Mangal insists the plan was Karthik’s idea. Lakshmi asks for her mother-in-law, and Sanjana taunts that she went out with Omesh. Gayatri then enters with flowers, reminding everyone she doesn’t need an invitation to her daughter-in-law’s birthday. She warmly wishes Lakshmi, who gratefully thanks her.
Later, Mangal gifts Lakshmi a dress and asks her to get ready. Shanti pressures Lipika to also give her gift, but Lipika appears tense. Sanjana whispers to Gayatri that her place in the house is slipping since Karthik’s wedding. Gayatri brushes it off, but Shanti adds fuel, saying Lakshmi and Karthik are making her restless.
Meanwhile, Ishana and Akshar fight over a broken headband. To lighten the mood, Sanjana suggests playing a “truth and lie” game using a lie detector watch. Gayatri is asked first if she thinks Lakshmi is a good daughter-in-law. She says Lakshmi still has a lot to learn, and the light shows truth. Mangal agrees, saying there’s always room to grow.
Lakshmi joins wearing a saree stitched by Mangal, but Gayatri insists she wear the saree gifted by her instead. Reluctantly, Lakshmi says she will wear it the next day, but Gayatri presses her to wear it immediately. Kusum then asks Mangal if she is truly happy. Mangal confidently says yes, praising her loving family, children, and sisters.
Lipika, however, stirs drama by asking Adit if he has ever loved another woman besides Mangal. Embarrassed, Adit denies it, but the detector signals red. Sanjana smirks as Adit claims every man has more than one love in his life, calling Mangal and Ishana his world after his first love—their mother.
Later, Soumya waits to hear if Mangal has signed the divorce papers she manipulated. Lipika tricks Mangal into signing them under the pretext of a delivery document. She quickly messages Soumya, who celebrates, thinking Adit is now free. Over the phone, she tells Adit he is finally divorced and can marry her. Meanwhile, Mangal innocently asks Adit to make her wear her mangalsutra again, which he does.
During cake cutting, Sanjana mocks Mangal for baking a simple cake. Lakshmi defends her, saying the cake is priceless because it is made of love. Kusum scolds Sanjana for not understanding love or warmth, leaving her fuming.
Upstairs, Lipika hides the papers nervously, but Kusum unknowingly finds them under the table. Believing they belong to Karthik, she puts them aside. In a shocking turn, the papers fall into Lakshmi’s room. Lakshmi picks them up and is horrified to discover they are divorce papers. Stunned, she says this cannot be true and rushes to call Mangal.
