Mangal Lakshmi 7th December 2024 Written Update begins with Kusum asking Mangal what she is hiding. She says she overheard Mangal asking someone for a house for her friend and wants to know who it is. Mangal replies that it is no one and that she was looking for a home for herself. Shocked, Kusum asks if Mangal has decided to leave the house. She reminds her that this is her home and that outsiders will leave, not her. Kusum pleads with her never to leave them.

Mangal asks her not to cry. She explains that she cannot bear seeing Adit and Soumya together and finds it too painful to stay. She says everything has changed and she feels like she is losing herself. Mangal cries and begs Kusum to let her go, promising that she will always remain her daughter and that Kusum can live with her whenever she wants. Kusum refuses to accept this. She says they will not give up and that she will not let her Lakshmi leave. But Mangal says there is nothing left to save.

Elsewhere, Jiya plays music and dances with Karthik during the celebration. Lakshmi sees them dancing together. Karthik’s friends cheer and clap when he removes his blindfold. People remark that old love never fades and that they always thought Jiya and Karthik were meant to be. Hurt, Lakshmi walks away.

Karthik stops everyone, saying Lakshmi is his wife and an incredible woman. He also mentions that Jiya herself had hinted for him to play along. He leaves the room. Lakshmi thinks about what she saw and wonders why Karthik did not tell her he went to Jiya’s birthday party. When Karthik enters their room, he sees Lakshmi has already fallen asleep. He feels guilty for hiding the truth.

Kusum prays for her family and asks God to show them a way. Adit approaches her, wanting to talk. She pulls her hand away, but he says she cannot shut him out. He reminds her he is still her son and says he knows it is difficult for her to accept the situation. He confesses that Soumya is pregnant and that he cannot leave her during this time. He says he will give the child his name and take full responsibility. Adit asks for forgiveness. Shanti overhears the entire conversation.

Adit goes to Soumya’s room and tells her to rest because the first three months of pregnancy are very sensitive. Shanti reacts angrily, calling Soumya a witch and blaming her for everything. She asks what Mangal must be going through and demands to know why Adit did not stand by his wife. She says Soumya is poisonous and asks where Adit’s sense of justice has gone. She also questions what will happen to Mangal’s children and blames Adit for ruining the family’s reputation.

Soumya tells Adit she will be careful and admits she did not think things through. She says she is relieved that Adit is with her. He promises he will always be there for her.

Mangal tries to calm Shanti down. Shanti says Mangal’s life has been destroyed and blames herself for failing to protect her. Adit asks what the drama is about. Shanti asks if he has any shame and whether he thought about his children. She accuses him of destroying the family’s respect and questions why he is doing this to Mangal. Mangal again tries to stop her, but Shanti says she failed as a mother and should have removed Soumya long ago. She says she knows Mangal’s heart is breaking.

Soumya tells Shanti to take Mangal away if she is so concerned, but also asks what she will tell her other daughter’s in laws. Shanti calls Soumya characterless and says she would never let her daughter live with someone like her. She tells Mangal to come with her. Mangal refuses, saying her children and parents are here. Shanti declares she will leave instead and walks out.

Soumya angrily asks why Shanti does not just leave and calls her a curse. Kusum tells Mangal that she will speak to Shanti.
