Gauri looks at Shiv’s photo and says, “My only dream was to become a doctor, but I met Shiv and thought I just respected him, but I don’t know when I fell in love with him.” In love with an unobtainable person, I started dreaming about him, but he didn’t even love me.. he just wanted to be my friend. My love story ended before it could begin. The pain is so great that I can’t fulfill my love. She cries.
Shiv heads home, overcome with sadness at Shakti’s previous statement that their relationship cannot extend beyond friendship. Tears stream down his face as he wonders why this rejection hurts him so deeply. He questions why her friendship means so much to him and realizes he had stopped standing up for himself until Shakti stepped in. He is confused as to why she refused his friendship when it was she who revived his sense of purpose. He wonders if he may have overstepped a boundary to warrant her rejection.
Manorama notices Shakti’s sorrow and finds her looking at Gauri’s pictures. She mentions that some people enter our lives for a reason, but eventually, we must let them go. Although Shiv and you created beautiful memories, he doesn’t love you, so moving on is best. Shakti becomes emotional, and Manorama comforts her by reassuring her that she has made the right decision. Manorama reminds Shakti that Shiv is now just a memory, and it’s time to focus on the present. Shakti confirms that Manorama overheard their conversation, responding that as Shati’s mother, she felt the need to protect her. She then advises Shakti to prepare for the upcoming function before leaving.
As Shiv’s family prepares for the Raksha Bandhan pooja, Nandu notices his stressed expression and asks why. Shiv reveals it is because of Shakti. Dadi reminds everyone that it is Koyal’s special day. Padma hopes her brothers will allow her to participate as a sister this year but doubts it since Bharat and Raghunath have not yet arrived. Just as she begins to leave, they show up, and Raghunath asks her to tie them rakhi.
Meanwhile, Mandira fumes, blaming Shakti for all the chaos. Nonetheless, Padma happily ties rakhi to her brothers and relates Koyal rakhi to Keertan and Nandu. Padma even ties one to Mandira, while Dadi suggests she ties one to Gayatri. Koyal playfully applies tilak on Shiv’s forehead and asks him where he’s been lost in thought.
He asks her to apply tilak to him, and she nods and does it. Dharam asks if she is okay, and Rimjhim says he knows the problem. He is smeared with tilak as Koyal applies it to him. Dadi says that’s a good sign; he’s going to get married soon. Mandira smiles and gets scared. Dadi says he’s already lost in thought. Who are you thinking about? Shiv says Shakti. Everyone is shocked.
