Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 21st August 2024 Written Episode starts with Abhira talking to Akshara on a video call. She says she’s unable to sleep because she’s worried about keeping Armaan’s engagement ring safe. She thanks Akshu for teaching her all the tips and tricks.
Abhira then checks the news and reads about a jewellery heist at a wedding. Just then, Armaan calls her and asks why she sounds so scared. He offers to come and stay with her all night. She teases him for being romantic and tells him to stay put. But as soon as she sees a shadow and smells smoke, her anxiety spikes. When she opens the door, a group of thieves grabs her.
Meanwhile, Dadi stops Armaan from going to see Abhira and urges him to go to sleep. He reluctantly agrees.
Back in the outhouse, the thieves demand the ring. Abhira pleads with them not to take it, explaining it belongs to Armaan and she needs it for the engagement. When they ignore her, she begins searching for her phone to call for help. The thieves eventually find the ring hidden inside a grain box and smirk in triumph.
Abhira imagines Dadi, Vidya, Manisha, and Armaan expressing their disappointment in her. She resolves not to lose the ring or their trust. Acting quickly, she throws powder at the thieves and grabs the ring back. Armaan, still worried, decides to sneak out through the back door but is caught by Dadi again. She hands him water and jokingly threatens to lock him in if he tries to leave again. Armaan gives up and heads back to bed.
Abhira fights off the goons and secures the ring. Teary-eyed, she promises herself that she won’t let anyone take Armaan’s ring again. She decides to tell him the truth, but only after the engagement. Armaan calls her again and checks in. She tells him she’s fine now and has conquered her fears. He flirts with her over the phone, and she ends the call with a smile.
Elsewhere, Ruhi is intercepted by Rohit when she tries to sneak out. He takes her to a beautifully decorated room with candles and heart-shaped balloons. He tells her he planned a date night for them. She’s visibly uncomfortable but plays along. When he offers her a drink, she gulps it down quickly. They dance together, but Ruhi starts imagining Armaan and almost takes his name.
In her intoxicated state, she says “I love you,” and realizes she was about to confess her love for Armaan in front of Rohit. Rohit is overjoyed and hugs her, believing the night to be perfect.
The next morning, Abhira and Armaan wake up with excitement for their engagement day. They laugh, dance, and celebrate. But when Abhira opens the ring box to check, she finds it empty. Her joy turns into shock.
