Anupama 23rd September 2023 Written Episode, Written Update on Worldofentertainment.in
Anuj informs Anupama that they must put an end to this matter immediately. He asserts that it is time to move on. However, Anupama pleads with him to listen to her. She acknowledges his perspective, but reminds him that there may be instances where she could be wrong and asks for the opportunity to explain herself. She reiterates that he was right in saying that nobody else will understand their situation, but emphasizes that if their child suffers, she as a mother will suffer too; if their child is frightened, she too will be scared for their child’s well-being. She clarifies that she is not trying to come between them and points out the importance of communication in any relationship. She implores him to give her a chance to express her thoughts.
Anuj reminds you that I can’t reject your request. He then asks Paakhi to bring Choti Anu indoors, which she does. Anuj questions Malti Devi about the event that led her to leave him in an orphanage, even though she gave birth to him. He inquires as to why she left him. Malti Devi humbly responds by admitting that it was not helplessness that drove her actions. Baa expresses her disappointment with the way Thakur ji created Malti Devi, while the latter explains that it was not helplessness, but rather stubbornness, arrogance, dreams and a desire for something more that led her to do what she did. Vanraj urges her to tell the truth.
According to Malti Devi, my experience is similar to that of many other women who had aspirations but were unable to fulfill them. She explains that despite being born in a small household, I had big dreams and had to work hard for them. Unfortunately, she notes that in our family, a daughter’s abilities do not bring joy and are often disregarded. Instead of supporting her pursuit of her dreams, they chose to marry her off to a man who worked as a clerk at a store and was considered decent. While he did not actively discourage me from chasing my dreams, he also did not encourage or motivate me towards them.
According to her, I struggled with suppressing my dreams and aspirations but ultimately failed. She also believes that society views a man choosing his dreams as admirable and driven, but if a woman does the same she is seen as selfish and a disgrace to womanhood. When I became pregnant, everyone else was overjoyed except for me. At the time, I had been presented with a significant opportunity, forcing me to choose between my maternal instincts and my ambitions. I ended up choosing motherhood, hoping that the happiness of my son’s birth would help me forget about my shattered dreams. However, she mentions that after you were born, another major opportunity arose for me to perform internationally.
The Guru reminds her to consider carefully before making a decision, acknowledging that she has undergone a lot of hardships to become an artist. He poses the question of whether her love for her son or her passion for art is more important. She answers by stating that this time, she chose to pursue her dream as an artist, despite the difficulty and tears involved. She clarifies that she left her son behind at the Ashram and traveled to Mumbai before ultimately heading to America. Anuj inquires if she has anything else to say or if he should speak instead. He expresses his support for her desire to fulfill her dreams and admits that when their daughter Anu wanted to go to America, he too wanted her to go. He acknowledges that he does not understand why her husband and family did not support her but apologizes on behalf of society for hindering her pursuit of dreams.
According to him, achieving success requires a high cost. It involves dedicated practice and perseverance. He also adds that this price includes living life without the support of parents. He challenges the belief that working women cannot be good mothers, citing the example of Jhansi ki Rani. He states that women in various professions successfully balance their careers and motherhood. Using another example, he emphasizes how even women in rural areas continue to care for their children while working in the fields. Acknowledging your circumstances, he understands why you made a difficult decision, but questions why you never took the opportunity to make it right by visiting the orphanage to check on your child’s well-being. Comparing you to Maya, who also left her daughter in a similar situation, he acknowledges her efforts to rectify her mistake six years later. However, your absence raises concerns and prompts him to question your actions.
According to Anupama, Anuj is making a valid point that anyone who hears it would agree you are incorrect. She believes that Anuj consistently emphasizes the importance of women pursuing their dreams and that abandoning a child for those aspirations is not acceptable. Meanwhile, Anuj shares that he spent his childhood yearning for his absent parents from the window of an orphanage, and wonders if they ever missed him even once in the past 40 years. Malti expresses her deep longing for her son but struggles with how to approach him after all this time. She admits she thought of him often but never had the opportunity to visit.
Anuj agrees with you, and I have no words to contradict that today. He recalls how you rejected me as your son and declares that he will now reject you as his mother. He urges her to leave. Malti Devi pleads with “Anuj beta,” but he sternly warns her not to even think of calling him that. “Anu,” he continues, “you know I would never go against you. But if you choose to keep your Guru Maa here, I will not stay. It’s your decision.” With that, he exits the room. Malti Devi starts feeling unwell, and Anupama and Adhik rush to help her sit down.
In Anuj’s room, Baa taunts Malti Devi and says where did your emotions go when you abandoned your children. Barkha asks her, Maya, Romil’s mother and you, what kind of mother you are, and what kind of mother you are. She says Anuj said it right that you could pursue your dreams while carrying your son. Anupama asks her to stop. She says where was your love, when your son longed for your love in orphanage.
According to Ankush, Anuj expressed his thoughts freely. Barkha believes it is crucial for her to listen. Baa insists a mother should not be self-absorbed. Vanraj concurs with Anuj’s viewpoint. Kavya approaches Anupama and acknowledges that she may feel overwhelmed, but the dynamics of a mother-son relationship can be challenging. Anupama invites Malti Devi to her room. Choti Anu embraces Anuj, who reciprocates and sheds tears. She comforts him, saying it’s alright to cry and release any pent-up frustration, just as she did when Maya Maa had visited.
Precap:
Anuj tells Anupama that tomorrow is Ganesh Chaturthi and it is an important day for me, as you have come to my house for the first time. He says that just like Bappa goes, Malti Devi has to go from my life. Kinjal asks if you are okay. Babu ji asks Malti Devi to have tea. Baa gets angry seeing Malti Devi at her house. Anupama thinks of a solution.
