Anupama points to the empty kheer bowl and informs Anuj that Samar had finished it after she had kept a full bowl for him. Barkha reminds the men not to make inappropriate jokes. Kinjal agrees with her statement. Leela calls out the men for playing a prank because they were not invited to their party. Anupama calls out to Samar, asking him to reveal himself from his hiding spot. Anuj delivers the shocking news that Samar is no longer alive as he has been shot. The ladies are stunned and break into tears. Anupama refuses to accept it and shouts that her son is perfectly fine and this must be another joke. Dimpy stumbles but is held by Anupama, who reassures her once again that Samar is unharmed. Leela begins sobbing loudly, unable to control her emotions. Anupama scolds each male member for their tasteless joke and questions if they are under the influence of alcohol. She reminds Kavya of Vanraj and Anuj’s drunken behavior at a party in Mumbai before.
Amidst the chaos and turmoil, Vanraj’s emotions overwhelm him as he cries out that their son has left them. Anupama, standing stiff and motionless, is lost in her own thoughts while the melancholic tune of “Cithi Na Koi Sandesh” plays in the background. Suddenly, Anupama envisions Samar standing by the door, waving at her. Without a second thought, she rushes towards him but ends up falling down. The family frantically comes to her aid and brings her inside. In the midst of all this confusion, Anupama unknowingly mistakes Toshu for Samar and embraces him tightly while vehemently stating that she knew he was with her all along. Overwhelmed with emotion, Toshu finally breaks down. As Anupama realizes her mistake and identifies Toshu, she pleads with him to call her “Samar.” Amidst it all, a flood of memories rushes back to Anupama’s mind as she recalls Anuj’s words and eventually breaks down herself.
At the hospital, Anuj gazes at Vanraj, understanding the pain of losing a young son. He wonders about Anupama’s state back at home. The Inspector then informs him that Samar’s body can be taken after postmortem. Upon hearing this, Vanraj immediately shouts at him for referring to his son as a “dead body.” The Inspector apologizes, stating that emotions must be set aside in their line of duty. As they discuss organ donation, the doctor hands Vanraj a form and Anupama continues to cry inconsolably. Kinjal urges her to come and support Dimpy for the sake of her baby. Vanraj turns to Anuj and asks how he could possibly sign such papers. In response, Anuj acknowledges that it’s painful for any parent to think about it, but it must be done; their household may feel dark now, but by signing this organ donation form, they can bring light into someone else’s life.
As Anupama recalls Samar’s request, she assumes she will take care of Dimpy and the baby. Kinjal informs her that Vanraj, Toshu, and Anuj have brought Samar home from the hospital.

Despite Anupama’s protestations that he did nothing, Anuj insists that had he known about the accident beforehand, he would have given his life to save Samar. Anupama locks herself in a room. Anuj begs her to let him speak to her.
