Meanwhile, Anurag is sitting alone when Anubhav joins him and suggests starting anew on Diwali. Anurag has decided to celebrate with the villagers and serve them, as it is more important than fulfilling his promise to Durga. While Durga may have forgotten her promise and stopped studying, Anurag intends to keep his promise and serve his community.
Anubhav advises that you finish your studies, while Anurag states that he only has one exam and will take it at his convenience. Additionally, he expresses a desire to assist the villagers. Upon Bai’s arrival, she acknowledges his distress but points out that Durga deceived him by taking advantage of his help with her studies. She then reveals the keys to his cupboard and presents him with his possessions. He protests, stating that these items are personal to him. However, Bai asserts they are holding him back and suggests burning them to free himself from their hold. Despite knowing that he had gifted these items to Durga, she urges him to move on since she was unfaithful.
Anubhav suggests returning the items to their rightful owner. Anurag agrees, recognizing that these items are hindering his progress and he needs to let go. He tosses them into a bonfire. Despite Anubhav’s attempt to intervene, Anurag stands firm, acknowledging that Bai was correct and that he no longer wants to be burdened by these false memories. Bai praises his decision and reassures him they will find a suitable partner who won’t be affected by his past friendship. Although they were once close friends, Anurag’s future wife may have concerns about their relationship if she saw these items.
