Anurag tries to hold Durga’s hand, but she says no. He says I am so happy for you; you will become a doctor soon; it is your dream. She says yes, I want to become a doctor to help poor people. She says you promised to write my name on the tree when you could spell it; now that you can, write it. She asks what people will say if they see it. He says so what? Nobody would know it is you, so our names can never be written together.
He asks her to promise to write it when the time comes. Durga is reluctant, so he says, “Don’t worry; come with me to decorate the tree tomorrow.” She says, “I’ll write it when the time comes.” They dance around the village. They ride bikes together and go to the market together. He buys her bangles.
As Indira looks on, Bai tells her she should buy her saree first since it’s the best choice. Aarti looks on. Bai asks her to buy something else as well. She says I’ll wear whatever you get me. Bai says I have always given you good items since you are Vikram’s wife, but you never match his class. Indira, however, is very different, so her saree needs to be the best. Savitri asks Aarti to buy her a good saree. She wants a luxury saree.
Bai says you burn your sons’ money, I have handled everything here, I have made sure everyone gets excellent stuff here but you are brainless. Your children will soon be in the city, so prepare for it. I never go to the town, Savitri admits. Bai challenges Aarti that she can never be a queen even though she wants to. Indira notes she can maintain luxury items even if not everyone can rock them. Aarti says I don’t go out much, so it’s good; I don’t need it. Savitri says I am buying it since I am gifting it; you must preserve it. It is from me. Bai lashes at her.
Anurag beams at Durga as she plays with goat newborns. She advises that we should enjoy it even though they both stand under the shed since it has suddenly started raining. She ventures outside to dance in the rain. Anurag picks up the flute and beams at her. She circles him while they stare at each other. When Vikram’s assistant Rajesh sees them together, his man tells him they keep meeting secretly, and others have started talking about them. He visits them, and then Durga distances herself from Anurag.
Having stopped raining, Rajesh tells Anurag to stop filthy acts. He says, “I don’t need to answer him.” He says, “As your father’s servant, I am telling you to be careful.” He holds Durga’s hand as he leaves, but Rajesh’s goons stop him. Anurag tells him to stay within his limits, and he will talk to his father.
