In the village, Rajesh told the family he had seen Anurag and Durga dancing together. Bai asked what that meant. Rajesh said people were going to gossip about them. I asked Durga to come with me, but she said she wanted to be with him. Anurag tells Durga not to worry. If someone questions them, they can say they met, and it rained, so I helped you. I dislike when you get scolded because of me. He says he loves you, so it’s okay, and you love me too.
Madhav advises Rajesh not to create unnecessary drama. Aarti explains that Durga regularly visits that tree to pray and may have coincidentally crossed paths with Anurag there. Bai criticizes Rajesh for lacking common sense, like his mother-in-law. Savitri arrives at the scene and inquires about the situation. Bai reveals that Rajesh witnessed Durga and Anurag dancing together in the rain, which could lead to rumours from the villagers and damage our reputation. We must remind Durga of her place in our family. Savitri reminds them that Durga and Anurag grew up together as friends, but Bai insists on keeping an eye on her, as girls like her cannot be trusted. She declares her intent to confront Durga today itself.
At the palace, Anurag and Durga find Rajesh leaving, so Durga leaves. Anurag asks why he’s here. Rajesh says I had some work with Bai. Anurag and Durga knock on the door. Bai opens it..glares at Durga who hides behind Anurag. He greets Bai, and she is happy to see him. Anurag greets everyone and tells Savitri that he misses her. Indira asks where he has been all day.
Bai explains that he got caught in the rain, so Aarti kindly brought him some milk. Bai assures her it’s not a big deal, but Aarti insists she knows exactly what he needs. She then calls Durga inside and asks where she ran into Anurag. Durga recounts how she was by the tree when it started raining, and Anurag came by and offered her a ride. Madhav proudly shares that Durga has achieved top marks in the district. Anurag adds that he even played his flute while Durga danced in the rain, as Rajesh may have already mentioned. Bai expresses her desire to speak with Durga privately, so she politely asks Anurag and Madhav to excuse themselves, and they oblige.
Indira insults Durga and says she danced for Anurag. It is not like that, she says. Aarti asks if she would like to change first. Bai says she is not so delicate, so let her be. Savitri asks her to change. She tells Durga to stop having a friendship with Anurag because she is no longer a child.
