Surekha proudly presents a new kurta to Chinmay, who questions if it’s meant for Ishaan. He expresses concern that she may have bought it for Ishaan and then decided to give it to him instead since Ishaan didn’t like it. This accusation takes aback Surekha and asks why he would think such a thing. Ishaan explains that throughout their childhood, she always favoured Ishaan over him and treated him like a second-hand option. He recalls how he wanted a mouth organ or bicycle as a gift, but she always got one for Ishaan first and then settled for a discounted version for him. He points out the stark contrast in the love and attention she gave parentless Ishaan compared to himself, who felt utterly ignored. In frustration, he tosses the kurta back at her and forcefully pushes her out of the room.
As Savi enters the room, she grabs a kurta. Surekha, wiping her tears, exits. Savi then pushes her way into the room. Chinmay remarks on one person leaving and another entering. Savi stares into his eyes and questions if he has any humanity left in him, as she doesn’t want Surekha and Shikha to waste their time on someone who lacks it.
Savi inquires about Jeetu’s living arrangements and reveals that he stays with Chinmay, who is very considerate. Jeetu shares that when Chinmay had previously left home, his daughter was only three days old. When he returned, he even asked about his daughter’s schooling details, which an employer rarely does. Savi starts to wonder if her friend Shikha is correct in her assessment of Chinmay. She remembers how Chinmay had boldly challenged Yashwant Rao Bhosale/YRB, vowing not to leave until his demands were met, and ponders what could have led him to take such a stance.
As Surekha boils milk in the kitchen, her mind drifts to her recent conflict with Chinmay. Savi enters and turns off the gas. Wiping away her tears, Surekha tries to appear busy. Savi explains that she was too focused on preventing the milk from spilling to see anything else. She then shares a childhood memory of how her Aai raised her alone, and they would use fried modak as a reset button to diffuse any tension between them. There may also be a reset button between Surekha and Chinmay, but she can’t seem to remember it now. Lost in thought, Surekha stands silently.
Surekha cooks Chinmay’s favourite dish and delegates Asmita and Durva to set it on the dining table. Reeva arrives and notices Surekha’s beaming face. She inquires about her sudden joy, to which Surekha replies that sometimes in life, it’s necessary to hit the reset button when faced with no solution. Reeva looks perplexed. Savi joins them, taking a seat next to Anvi.
Anvi inquires if Savi enjoyed her script. Savi responds enthusiastically, praising Anvi’s deep research into Ram Charitra and asking where this hidden talent had been. Anvi confesses that she had aspired to be a writer in her childhood, but after Mukul Mama’s incident, she gave up on the idea. With Savi’s encouragement, she is again reigniting her passion for writing.
As Nishi and Ishaan enter, they mention that YRB is upset but prefers not to disclose the details of his conflict with Chinmay. Moving on, Ishaan brings up the college’s upcoming cultural festival for Ram Navami. Savi then suggests having her friend Anvi handle the event since Ishaan has opted not to participate as cultural secretary. Introducing Anvi as a talented writer, Savi mentions that she has written the script for the Seeta swayamwar performance at the festival.
Durva inquires Anvi for any knowledge she may have about maryada purshotam Ram. Savi then proceeds to recite a shloka, highlighting how Ram’s unwavering commitment led him to be willing to sacrifice his own life. She fondly remembers Ishaan keeping his promise to Harini and envisions her as Ram. Similarly, Reeva also imagines Ishaan embodying the qualities of Ram.
As YRB strolls in for lunch, Surekha promptly instructs the maid to summon Chinmay. However, YRB vehemently protests, insisting that Chinmay not be called to join them. Despite this, Chinmay happens to enter the room and hears the commotion. Surekha eagerly informs him of all his preferred dishes that she has prepared and urges him to partake. Chinmay graciously accepts her offer, inviting her to take a seat. He declares that they should enjoy their meal just like they did in childhood. He gestures for Ishaan to sit beside him and then requests Surekha to serve them.
Surekha offers a bite to Chinmay, but he stops her and reminds her of their childhood tradition where Ishaan should be fed first. This disappoints Surekha. Chinmay explains that he has already eaten with Jeetu and walks away.
