Jagriti 23rd December 2024 Written Update begins with Kalikant arriving at the Chitta basti (Shantytown). Kalindi observes how the Chitta people kneel in reverence before him. With her followers watching, Kalindi introduces Kalikant as the “God” of the Chitta people. Kalikant humbly thanks them, calling it an expression of their love.

Suddenly, Kalikant begins coughing and reaches for bottled water. Kalindi stops him, saying he shouldn’t drink water from “plastic people” and instead offers water from the Chitta community. Durjan intervenes, questioning Kalindi’s actions and reminding her of Kalikant’s revered status. Kalindi asserts that she sees no difference between herself and the Chitta people—and to prove it, she drinks their water herself.

Elsewhere, Madan Chadda shows Kalindi how deeply the Chitta people worship Kalikant. He says that to control the region, they must break the bond between the people and their god. Kalindi silently agrees and thinks that soon the Chitta people will worship her instead.

Later, Kalikant addresses the gathering and excuses Kalindi’s behaviour, saying she is new and unfamiliar with their customs. At the same time, Gita secretly enters the basti. Jagriti finds her and quickly pulls her aside. Gita confesses that the police are after her and she needs a safe place to hide. Jagriti assures her she will take care of it.

Inspector Singh soon arrives in the basti with his team. Kalikant questions his presence, and Singh pulls him aside to inform him that Gita has evidence of corruption involving bribe money. Kalikant immediately orders Singh to search the basti and capture Gita.

Acting fast, Jagriti hides Gita in a cowshed. As the police begin their search, Jagriti splashes cow dung water near the shed to distract them. When Singh questions her, she offers an innocent excuse, while Kachori insists there’s no one there. Singh remains suspicious and heads to inspect the shed.

Jagriti starts to panic. A gunshot suddenly rings out from the shed. Fearing the worst, Jagriti is pulled away by Bindi and Kachori.

Harish later reassures Jagriti that Gita is safe. A flashback reveals how Harish noticed Jagriti’s efforts to stall Singh. He had gone into the shed, found Gita, and helped her escape. To distract the police, Harish had thrown a snake, prompting Singh to fire the gunshot.

Later, Harish taunts Inspector Singh for shooting a harmless snake. Singh grumbles in response.

Back at the scene, Kalikant, frustrated that the police couldn’t locate Gita, instructs Singh to intensify the search. Jagriti takes the opportunity to invite Kalikant to attend a festival in the basti the next day. He agrees and departs.

Elsewhere, Amol berates Singh for his failure and demands Gita’s immediate capture.

Meanwhile, Sapna questions Amol about Gita’s whereabouts, but he feigns ignorance. Sapna worries she won’t be able to sleep without her. Avadhesh tries to comfort her and sends her away. Once alone with Amol, Avadhesh challenges his claim, accusing him of assuming Gita is hiding with someone from the Chitta community again. Amol dismisses the criticism and brushes him off.

In a quiet corner, Gita confides in Harish that she needs to charge her phone to send the video proof to her superior. Once the evidence is sent, she believes Amol won’t be able to harm her. Akash, overhearing this, notices that Kalikant’s phone charger has the same connector as Gita’s. He promises to steal it and help her.
