The episode of Jhanak on 6th December 2024 begins with Anjana asking Jhanak to eat something. Dadi asks who will perform Brij’s shraadh rituals. Anjana replies that Jhanak will do it, as it’s her right and duty as a daughter. Dadi refuses, saying the ceremony cannot take place in their house. Choton firmly says that it will happen there itself.
Bipasha intervenes and questions what relation Jhanak has with their family anymore. Anirudh says that if they have a problem, they can perform the rituals elsewhere — he has no objection. Anjana pleads with everyone to show some compassion, reminding them that Jhanak hasn’t eaten in two days and could fall seriously ill. She calls out the injustice that Jhanak has faced and asks Dadi to show pity.
Arshi angrily tells Anirudh not to support Jhanak. She scolds him for always taking Jhanak’s side. Choton defends Anirudh, saying he isn’t doing anything wrong. Anjana adds that Jhanak is Arshi’s sister, but Arshi refuses to accept it, calling it a lie. Jhanak softly says she also wishes it was a lie.
Appu and Lalon arrive just then. Appu innocently asks Jhanak about her father’s death and tells her not to cry. She offers to feed Jhanak with her own hands. Bipasha taunts Appu, calling her a drama queen. Appu, in her childlike tone, tells Bipasha to take Arshi and leave, saying that this is also her house. Dadi scolds Appu and tells her to calm down.
Lalon tells Jhanak that he has lost his job and is struggling to find new work. He requests her to take care of Appu and take her along for singing programs, saying that music might bring happiness to both their lives. Jhanak agrees tearfully, and Appu insists on feeding her first.
Arshi asks Anirudh to leave with her. Jhanak also asks him to go, but Anirudh refuses, saying she doesn’t understand what’s important. He tells her to finish her food or he won’t leave. Dadi insults Jhanak again and says Anirudh has already hurt Arshi enough.
Anirudh calmly replies that he only asked Arshi to leave if she isn’t happy. Arshi shouts at him to stop talking. Jhanak says she will leave after her father’s shraadh and promises never to return. Anirudh tells her that Brij’s shraadh can be performed from their home. She asks him to let her go, but he refuses, saying he can’t see her suffer anymore.
Anirudh admits that he can’t stay with Arshi because he doesn’t love her. He says their relationship lacks love and peace — Arshi is only possessive about him, and a one-sided relationship cannot survive. Bipasha overhears their conversation and is shocked.
Anirudh adds that he is scared of Arshi’s reactions but cannot live a lie anymore. Jhanak tells him he is doing wrong and shouldn’t leave Arshi. Anirudh explains that every person has the right to live in peace. Bipasha smirks from outside, thinking that Anirudh’s love for Jhanak will end once she exposes Jhanak’s secrets. She decides to steal Jhanak’s phone to find proof.
Jhanak tells Anirudh that she plans to leave for Mumbai and stay in Aditya’s flat for a few days. Bipasha’s eyes light up at this revelation. Anirudh warns her that finding work will take time, but Jhanak says she has already received a movie offer.
Anirudh then asks her a bold question — if he breaks up with Arshi and frees himself from that relationship, would Jhanak be willing to share her life with him? Jhanak immediately refuses, saying she doesn’t want to be the reason for his breakup.
Anirudh insists that he will end things with Arshi and that when that happens, he will come to Jhanak. He tells her that it will be her choice to accept him or send him away. Jhanak replies firmly that she will send him away, as they can never be together. Anirudh says only time will tell.
Before leaving, Anirudh asks if she wants to invite anyone for her father’s shraadh — perhaps Aditya. Jhanak says he is just her friend and she doesn’t want many people there. Anirudh insists that he will call Aditya, saying it would be wrong not to inform him. Bipasha smiles, pleased with what she overhears.
After Anirudh leaves, Bipasha enters Jhanak’s room pretending to express sympathy. She says she came on Dadi’s behalf to discuss some household rules. Her eyes immediately spot Jhanak’s phone on the bed. While pretending to talk, she cleverly picks it up. Bipasha asks Jhanak to step outside for a while and uses the opportunity to access her phone.
