However, Vaiju declines, expressing her desire to bring Jaya home first. Sulekha mocks her, prompting Ragini to defend Vaiju. But Vasundhara criticizes her too. Sulekha insists Jaya is suffering because of Vaiju and tells Vaiju to leave the house, live in a hostel, and wear sindoor as much as she wants—outside their home.

Ragini stands firm, defending Vaiju and saying she won’t let anyone mistreat her. Rao Sahab enters and silences Sulekha. Just then, a man arrives asking if this is Vaijanti’s residence. Sulekha retorts that it’s her sister’s in-laws’ house. The man introduces himself from the education department and informs them Vaiju will be honored with an award the next day. Vaiju thanks him but says she cannot attend—her family is more important than an award.

Ragini pleads with Rao Sahab to intervene. He assures everyone that Vaiju will attend the ceremony and thanks the man. He reminds Vaiju to keep her professional and personal lives separate and confirms the entire family will accompany her.
