Lakshmi says her mother already bought her jewelry. Kusum says that’s great. Don’t forget this money anywhere. Buy her jewelry.
She reads it in shock. Karthik says she would have married Nitin if she wanted money. He’s very wealthy. He was after her. You have hurt her self-respect. Lakshmi calls Karthik. He says, please don’t get me wrong. That letter… he says yes, I’m coming. Karthik wants to meet with her. You have ruined everything. He leaves.
Mangal reaches out to Shanti to discuss the preparations for Lakshmi’s wedding. The idea of selling the house arises, but Shanti assures Mangal that it won’t be necessary. Instead, they can use the jewelry that their late mother left for Lakshmi. However, Mangal is taken aback when Shanti reveals that she had given him the jewelry for their wedding without his knowledge. Feeling guilty, Shanti explains that they had no money then, and she didn’t want him to go empty-handed in their marriage. Now realizing the gravity of the situation, Mangal wonders how he will afford Lakshmi’s jewelry for the wedding. She says I was confused when I saw your letter. He says he wishes he had said it sooner. Lakshmi asks if this is true. That’s why I came to meet you. He says he won’t lie to you.
Karthik apologizes for Lakshmi’s cry. Are you crying? Did the letter upset you? She says there is nothing to be angry about. You wrote everything. He says he thought you might think of me as Nitin. She asks why. Karthik asks whether she has any problems.

Mangal begins compiling a list of necessary items for the wedding, which she estimates to cost six lacs. Kusum interrupts her and asks if anything is bothering her. She returns the jewelry and acknowledges that Mangal’s savings may not cover much. She adds that it is unfair for her mother to wear someone else’s jewelry, even though she cannot complain about Mangal’s mother. Kusum wonders why Mangal did not simply admit she was short on funds. Unfortunately, Kusum cannot allow her mother to wear the jewelry she borroweds. It would be best to return them to their rightful owner; only they have the right to wear them.
Karthik thanks me for understanding. He says tomorrow is my mom’s birthday. You have to come. She says okay, I’ll come. Karthik says my friends will also be there. All attention will be on you.
