Mangal Lakshmi 9th December 2024 Written Update begins with Mangal visiting Shanti. Shanti immediately scolds her, saying she did not want Mangal to come and that she never listens. Mangal says she is also a mother and understands everything. She then gives Shanti some money, explaining that her lunch service is doing well and she wants to help with Lipika’s wedding. Shanti refuses to take it, but Mangal insists the money belongs to Shanti’s daughter and she has every right to accept it.
Shanti recalls how they could not educate Mangal despite her teachers always advising them to let her study further. She says she should never have made Mangal dependent on anyone but is proud that Mangal built her life on her own. Mangal says Shanti did what she believed was right at the time. Shanti then wishes for Soumya and her child to be thrown out of Mangal’s life. Mangal asks her not to curse an innocent child. Shanti reminds her that Adit and Soumya betrayed her and asks what people will say when they learn that Mangal’s husband is about to have another woman’s child. Mangal firmly replies that Adit is no longer her husband and she does not care what he does. She leaves angrily. Shanti then declares she must get Soumya’s child aborted.
At the clinic, Kusum arrives but feels overwhelmed by guilt. She remembers everything Shanti said. Soumya asks if she is alright and she pretends she is fine. A nurse arrives and asks Soumya for a blood sample for her test. Soumya refuses, saying she already has her own doctor. When the nurse insists, Soumya runs out. Shanti calls Kusum and says not to panic, reminding her to think of Akshar and Ishana. She claims Soumya has done all this to take Mangal and Ishana away.
The nurse says they must follow the instructions they were given. Soumya tries to resist but eventually faints after stepping outside for water. Kusum watches fearfully as the staff take her blood.
Mangal arrives and demands to know what Kusum is doing. Kusum asks how Mangal found them, and Mangal explains she overheard Shanti talking to Kusum. The nurse informs them that Soumya will regain consciousness soon.
Meanwhile, Lakshmi goes to Karthik’s office. The receptionist stops her, saying he is recording inside and the session is for Jiya.
Back at the clinic, Kusum pleads with Mangal to listen. Mangal asks what she was trying to do and whether she intended to kill an innocent child. Kusum says she made the decision for Mangal and her kids. She calls Mangal her daughter and promises to always protect her. She admits she could not keep her happy and wanted to do something to save her. Kusum says this child has taken away Mangal’s last bit of hope and ruined her children’s future. She believes ending the pregnancy is the only way to save them.
Mangal refuses. She says she does not want happiness that comes at the cost of an innocent life. She insists she will build her own life and raise her children on her own. She begs Kusum not to blame herself or commit such a sin. She thanks God that she arrived in time to stop it. Adit then walks in.
Lakshmi sees Jiya thanking Karthik for a perfume gift and pretending he gave it to her personally. Karthik says he brought it from France. Jiya says his presence at her party was the best gift. Lakshmi leaves in shock. Jiya was actually playing a recording to manipulate Lakshmi.
Adit asks Mangal where Soumya is and says she asked him for help. He sees Soumya unconscious and rushes to her. Lakshmi later drops Karthik’s lunch and leaves, and he wonders why she did not stay.
Soumya wakes up and hugs Adit, crying. She says thank God he came and he asks why she sent a help message. She says she needs him to save her. She claims his mother brought her to the clinic under the pretext of a checkup but tried to kill her child. Adit is horrified.
He turns to Kusum and demands an explanation. Mangal steps in and says Soumya came for her checkup and she came afterward. She takes the blame onto herself. Adit angrily asks how she could stoop so low. Soumya calls Mangal disgusting and accuses her of trying to kill the baby. She claims Mangal confessed in front of everyone and threatens to send her to jail.
