Shiv instructs Nandu to escort Shakti back to her house. Despite Shakti’s attempts to converse with him, Shiv departs. As Nandu retrieves Shakti’s belongings, he also urges her to depart. However, Shakti requests a chance to speak with Shiv before leaving. Nandu denies her request, sharing his disappointment in her actions towards Shiv and their relationship. As he takes hold of Shakti, she accidentally collides with Kartik, causing him to drop a photo of his mother. Upon seeing the picture, Shakti is taken aback by the realization that Gauri is in the image. In shock, she addresses Gauri as “Gauri di?”
Gayatri is Shiv’s first wife and Kartik’s mother. Shakti can’t believe it and says she was Shiv’s wife. Gayatri says she will explain Shiv and Kartik today. They met at a medical camp ten years ago. As a social worker in the camp, Gauri helped injured patients, and Shiv enabled her to become a doctor. As the flashback progressed, they became friends and spent time together.
Shiv came back and told us about Gauri, and we all liked her, so we decided to arrange their marriage. They got married and were happy together. But with time, fights started happening in the house between me and Gauri. I did not know why we used to argue, but we kept fighting. The flashback shows Mandira enjoying Gayatri and Gauri’s fights. During all that, Shiv lost his dada, and we attended his funeral in the river, Gayatri said.
During that time, Gauri was pregnant. When we were there, I started fighting with Gauri, and Shiv pushed Gauri from the boat, causing her to fall into the river. A crocodile grabbed Gauri before we could save her. Shiv saved her, but she was severely injured. We rushed to the hospital. In the flashback, Shiv said he would save Gauri, but he could only save Kartik, resulting in Gauri’s death.
Gayatri reveals that Shiv took full responsibility for Gauri’s death, blaming himself for their argument and subsequent tragic events. As a result of this incident, my family distanced themselves from me and even removed Shiv from my life. Shiv’s guilt and regrets led to mental struggles, causing him to lose confidence in his surgical abilities and suffer from physical pain. Witnessing his suffering was incredibly painful for me. Despite all of this, Shiv never intended to deceive you and was determined to reveal the truth about himself before marrying anyone. He never lied to you. Overcome with emotion, she cries and pleads with Shakti.
Seeing Gauri’s photo, Shakti cries. She says my Gauri sister was his wife. Gayatri says you know her? She says I only survive because of Gauri. She saved my life in her medical camp, where she met Shiv. After losing my parents in a heavy water storm, Gauri pulled me from the water and saved me. Without her, I would have died. For the rest of my life, I kept looking for her.
Kartik pleads, “Please don’t mention my mother’s name. And I cannot accept you as my stepmom either. You have also broken her picture.” Shakti replies, “I am not your stepmom, nor do I wish to be. As Gauri’s sister, I see myself more as your aunt, like a mother figure. I understand I can’t replace your mother, but I will try my best to fulfill her role. Do you mind if we have more of an aunt-nephew relationship?” She turns to Gayatri and explains, “Gauri taught me the value of mending relationships. Until the people of this house are reunited, until you are reunited with this family, I will not leave. I now must fulfill Gauri’s responsibilities.” Nandu watches on intently.
