Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 15th August 2024 Written Update: The episode starts with Vidya anxiously informing Dadi that Abhira has been kidnapped. Dadi feigns concern, while Rohit and Armaan search frantically. Meanwhile, Abhira, tied up and furious, demands the kidnapper show themselves. As the door opens, she smells a familiar perfume and is stunned — it’s Dadi.
Rohit updates Armaan about tracking Abhira’s phone. Armaan is shocked to find the location is their own home. Inside, Dadi removes Abhira’s blindfold and proudly says she’s glad Abhira recognized her by her perfume.
As everyone rushes into the house, Armaan demands to know where Abhira is. Dadi calmly admits that she kidnapped her. The family is stunned. Armaan is furious, but Dadi firmly declares that she won’t allow the marriage. He demands to meet Abhira, and Dadi allows it — but not without a catch.
To everyone’s surprise, Dadi leads Abhira in and suddenly hands her over to Armaan. She lightens the moment with sarcastic humor, pointing out how tired she is of Armaan sneaking in through windows, the smell of burnt food from the outhouse, and how he only comes home to sleep. Dadi shocks the entire family by saying she is ready to get Abhira and Armaan married — but only with all rituals and traditions.
Ruhi is left in disbelief, while the rest of the family smiles joyfully. Manisha, already prepared, brings the wedding clothes, and Dadi even performs the nazar utarna ritual to protect the couple from evil eyes.
Still skeptical, Abhira tells Dadi she wants genuine acceptance, not a forced favor. Armaan adds that they want her blessings, not pity. Dadi firmly responds that relationships take time, effort, and patience to grow — just like a tree. She acknowledges there will be fights and misunderstandings, but both sides must try. Dadi officially permits Abhira to enter the family home and gives them a Lord Ganesha coin for good luck.
Everyone celebrates the moment except Ruhi, who storms off to her room in a rage. She tears a pillow, unable to digest Dadi’s approval. Ruhi vows to fight for Armaan, believing the marriage hasn’t happened yet and there’s still hope.
Elsewhere, Armaan and Abhira share an emotional hug near a plant, reminiscing about their love journey.
