Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 17th September 2024 Written Episode begins with Armaan insisting that he doesn’t have the medical reports. Dadi calls him aside, while Ruhi regrets her mistake, admitting to herself that she should have directly told Dadisa. She hopes Vidya will find the reports and stop the marriage.
At the mehendi, Manisha lovingly prepares to write Armaan’s name on Abhira’s hand, while Armaan struggles to hide his pain after hearing Ruhi’s revelation. Sanjay notices their worry and hints that something must be wrong in the report.
Vidya then confronts Abhira directly. She declares that Armaan’s name will never be written on her hand and shows her the report, revealing that Abhira can never conceive. Shocked, Abhira breaks down in tears. She grows dizzy, and Armaan quickly holds her.
Armaan defends Abhira, saying she had the right to know first and he was waiting for the right time to tell her. Vidya argues that she knows his lifelong dream was to have children, and Abhira cannot fulfil that. Dadi joins in, warning Armaan about the consequences. She tells him that while adoption is possible, the child will struggle just as he once did, growing up under constant comparisons. Armaan and Abhira are heartbroken.
Dadi harshly questions whether Armaan is truly ready to live without the joy of holding his own child. Under pressure, Armaan withdraws his hand from Abhira. Dadi pushes him to reconsider marrying her.
Manish steps forward, strongly opposing Dadi and Sanjay. He reminds them that marriage isn’t only about having children — it’s about companionship, love, and support. Sanjay ridicules him, saying fate has already decided and Abhira doesn’t deserve a family. When Sanjay mocks her further, Manish nearly raises his hand in anger but is stopped.
Abhira collapses emotionally. Manish wipes her tears and consoles her, saying her tears hold no value in a house filled with stones. He tells her that life always tests people, and she must decide where she belongs. Refusing to let her endure further humiliation, he takes her away with him. Surekha joins them in support.
Meanwhile, Vidya stops Armaan, determined to fight for his happiness. On the road, Abhira sees a poor woman begging for her baby’s hunger. Deeply moved, she gives her money, recalling her own broken dreams of motherhood.
Vidya continues to explain to Armaan that blood ties matter, warning him that adoption could burden the child. Rohit intervenes, saying it’s Armaan’s life and marriage, and the decision must be his alone. He walks away with Armaan.
Precap: Abhira cries that she doesn’t deserve family love and happiness. Armaan calls her, insisting they should discuss it. Later, he asks Vidya to stop the wedding preparations as Abhira has refused to marry.
