During the episode, everyone makes rakhis. Akshara asks Abhir what type of rakhi he wants. Ruhi says he’s a boy. Abhimanyu says both boys and girls need protection. Akshara says she knows Abhir would like blue. Aarohi asks where Nishta is. Parth says she has gone on a girls trip, she took my credit card. They laugh. When Muskaan sees the rakhi, he remembers Abhinav, and she sees Abhimanyu.
Manjiri and Mahima both made rakhi for someone, as they were all smiling. Abhimanyu asked about the printouts while Abhir offered to retrieve them. Ruhi expressed her desire to learn how to print before they all left the room. Surekha appreciated their sensible behavior despite past conflicts between their families. Manish reminded everyone of their sincere efforts to move forward and urged them to genuinely share in each other’s happiness. Surekha made a subtle dig at the Birla family. Eventually, Ruhi returned with the printouts and Abhimanyu asked her to paste them first. She teasingly commented on his lack of patience before calling on Abhir for help, who politely declined due to his thoughts about Abhinav.
Abhimanyu says you will fall, tie it yourself. Abhir says no. Akshara says I’ll tie it. She takes off her shoes and goes to his room where he touches Abhinav’s picture. Akshara asks where he goes, but Abhimanyu says he’ll be here. She calls out Abhir. They come to the room. She asks whether he ran away again. Abhir says I’ll call the police. They see the blanket hanging out of the cupboard. She opens the cupboard, and Abhir sleeps in it.
Abhir slowly opens his eyes to the sound of voices. His friends urge him to leave his current spot and rest on the bed instead. Despite their offer, she insists that it’s not a safe place and tries to persuade him with a lullaby. However, Abhir refuses and begs them to let him be. As they continue to plead with him, Akshara notices a photo of Abhinav and shows it to their friend Abhimanyu. The two stay by Abhir’s side while he rests, but their peace is interrupted when Manish arrives and inquires about what happened. After hearing about Abhir’s state, Manish becomes solemn and comforts them before leaving the room. Eventually, Abhir falls asleep and Abhinav takes the opportunity to carefully move them onto the bed. In doing so, a glass of juice spills onto the floor, causing Akshara to quickly go fetch a towel. While cleaning up the mess, she discovers Abhinav’s wallet and is flooded with memories of their friend as she breaks down in tears.
Abhimanyu grabs the clothes and his wallet, while Kairav mentions needing to purchase items for Abhir. He adds that he recently acquired a car and plans to get Abhir’s favorite sports t-shirt, asking Muskaan to handle the meals. Turning to Muskaan, he urges her not to blame Abhimanyu for what happened with Abhinav, reminding her that they must all move forward. However, Muskaan disagrees, stating that it may be easy for Akshara but not for her. She continues to argue, refusing to forgive Abhimanyu and mentioning that she will hold onto this resentment for as long as she lives.
Akshara wears socks and the alarm rings. Upon seeing “happy anniversary” written, she looks at Abhinav’s picture and sends him her best wishes. Abhimanyu expresses his frustration at trying to make everything right, but nothing seems to be going well. Shefali offers words of comfort, reminding him that these things take time. It is Abhinav and Akshara’s anniversary, and Abhir was so excited that he slept hugging his father’s picture in the cupboard. Akshara couldn’t hold back her emotions when she saw Abhinav’s belongings, and on top of that, she is also taking care of Abhir. Feeling helpless, Abhimanyu can only watch and worry. Shefali assures him that it is not fear but rather decency on his part to not overstep boundaries. She encourages him to put aside their past relationship and his own feelings and simply be there for Akshara in her time of need as a support system. Reluctantly, he agrees with her suggestion.
As Akshara recalls, when life united us for the first time, we were different; we became parents before we became partners, and you would have said it was the same, it wasn’t the same, we would have celebrated our anniversary for our sakes. As I always do, I would have given you this sweater, you would have bought new earrings for me, happy anniversary, you left without giving me a gift, I wanted to wear your favorite socks, but I just got one, you are not here, my discussions are incomplete. She hugs the picture tightly.
