Anupama informs Anuj that she previously mentioned the file she obtained from Guru Maa’s belongings, and reveals that she found this photo within. She explains that she intended to tell him yesterday, but was unable to do so. She believes it must have been fate for him to find out today. She recalls placing the photo in her purse before heading to the orphanage and accidentally handing it over with a check to Sushma. Sushma then recognized him as you. She also shares that when she asked for proof, Sushma provided your birth certificate, the receipt of Malti Devi giving you up for adoption, and receipts of all the donations made over the years.

Malti Devi is overcome with emotion. Anuj gazes at her, while Baa comments on how Anuj’s relatives appeared out of nowhere, though this time they were familiar upon entry. Babu ji attributes it to God’s leela. Vanraj is in disbelief, and Paakhi finds it shocking as well. Adhik acknowledges that if it’s shocking for them, it must be even more so for Malti Devi. Romil concurs, sharing his own experience of being shocked when his mother introduced him to his father. Barkha adds that the news is a shocking twist – Malti Devi is Anuj’s mother. Choti Anu questions what is going on, prompting Kavya to reveal that Guru Maa is Choti Anu’s grandfather. Choti Anu reacts with joy. Finally, Anupama tells Malti Devi that even though she didn’t know he was her son before, her heart always recognized the connection – evident in the way she called him beta.

She says you used to miss your parents after their death and see how God sent you your mother. She claims he snatched Yashoda and brought Devki back. She says nothing could be more beautiful than this moment, and Malti Devi asks if he is my son. Anupama says yes. Malti Devi becomes emotional. Anupama says you have written ‘A’ with embroidery, even though your mind did not know, but your heart knew. She touches his cheek and says my son Anuj again, my son Anuj.

A smile spreads across Anupama’s face. Anuj is in shock. He asks Malti Devi to go away from him. He says you aren’t my mother. Anupama asks what you mean? I understand now why I felt hurt seeing her here, and why I felt restless and hateful when I heard her voice. The Malti Devi, according to Anupama, is your mother. Anuj says she wouldn’t have left me in the orphanage if she were my mother. He says she is amazing. According to Malti Devi, you are my son.

Anuj explains that you and I do not have a mother-son relationship. He feels that he cannot accept you, even once. He wants to remind you that you know how much a mother means to me, but meeting her has only brought me misfortune. This news shocks Malti Devi. Vanraj empathizes with her feelings and acknowledges that he has no right to say anything, but asks for some time for her to process this information. Anuj questions how much more time he should give Malti Devi, stating that he has already given her over 40 years. He shares that Anu had told him she was his mother, however, he wants to clarify to Malti Devi that being a mother is not solely about giving birth, but also about providing unconditional love like Anu did for him as his younger sister. He reveals that she is still a stranger to him since she never wrote any letters or showed concern for his well-being. Baa tries to justify Malti Devi’s actions by saying she may have been unable to do so due to certain circumstances. However, Anuj is aware of the excuses and instead asks for an explanation as to what exactly those circumstances were.

Malti Devi is taken aback. Vanraj urges her to hear him out. Anuj states that he wants no ties with her, not even a hostile one, as she doesn’t deserve it. He informs Anupama that she never turned back to look at him. He expresses gratitude towards Anupama, acknowledging that she may think this is the happiest moment of his life, but in reality, it is the most agonizing and heartbreaking one. He remarks that he has observed her closely and understands the depth of a mother’s love. She recalls seeing him care for children who are not his own, such as Kinjal, Dimpy, and Anu. He clarifies that though she knows what a true mother is like, Malti Devi does not fit that description. She admits to having no answer for this statement.

He asks Malti Devi why she left him in the orphanage after giving birth. He points out that if she had wanted to pursue a career, she could have done so while still caring for him. He explains that he spent eight years in the orphanage where he had food, clothes, and shelter, but lacked any familial connections. He shares that when he was scared, there was no mother to comfort him and no father to guide him. He adds that while there were many who taught discipline, there was no one to instill values in him. He acknowledges that being in an orphanage is better than living on the streets, but wonders why parents fail to understand that there are no actual parents present in the orphanage. In his opinion, it is like being in a dark cave where children are constantly afraid and struggle to find their way.

He inquires why the parents fail to comprehend the situation before abandoning their children there. Anupama embraces him, trying to console him. Choti Anu also gives him a hug. He lifts her onto his lap and expresses that she is the only one who truly understands him, unlike Anupama and others. She reminisces about their time together, where they would go to sleep with tears in their eyes and wake up with tears still streaming. She reveals that nobody ever consoled them or helped them sleep peacefully. He shows her the papers, claiming that they prove that she gave birth to him but clarifies that his real mother is the one who brought him to the orphanage, raised him, instilled good values in him and made him into who he is today. He concludes by saying that she is not his biological mother but rather his caregiver and guardian.

Precap:

It is wrong to punish a small baby for seeing dreams, according to Anupama. She says every woman has a right to see dreams, but it is wrong to punish a child for it. Anuj says I know I will never go against you, so you can keep her here, but I will not stay here if she stays.
