Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 12th August 2024 Written Update begins with Abhira feeling emotional about breaking the bench where Armaan once wrote her name with love. Just then, Armaan arrives with a new nameplate. She smiles warmly. Armaan expresses his feelings—how Abhira transformed from a responsibility to his life’s most important person. He then proposes to her, asking if she would become his wife.
Abhira hugs him and teasingly says he outdid her proposal. Armaan insists she stop scoring their proposals and give her answer. She says yes but hesitates when he suggests getting married the very next day—without their elders’ blessings. He urges her to give a clear yes or no. Abhira finally agrees.
Armaan fixes the new name board onto the bench and tells Abhira they’ll marry tomorrow and move into their new home. She questions if they’ll live apart from the family. Armaan reminds her to trust him if she truly loves him. He says Dadi will never accept her and he doesn’t want her to face any more humiliation. Abhira insists that she loves him more but believes they need to take the right step.
Ruhi overhears their conversation as Armaan tells Abhira to meet him at the Radha Krishna temple the next day. Ruhi rushes back home, determined to inform Dadi, but Manisha stops her. Ruhi insists it’s private and urgent, but Manisha explains that Mummysa is unwell and resting, and Ruhi should wait until morning.
Meanwhile, Armaan begins packing for his new life. Abhira calls him, but he insists his decision is final. She sends him a picture of keychains that fell out of a box—symbols of their love and longing for family. Armaan replies that maybe fate hasn’t granted them a family, but they’ll create one together. He contacts a broker to finalize the house and tells him he and his wife will move in tomorrow.
Vidya visits Abhira and gives her a dress, saying it’s her first Teej and a special day for both her and Armaan. Abhira wonders if Vidya is aware of Armaan’s plan. She asks Vidya if Dadi will ever agree. Vidya leaves without answering, and Abhira begins to question if Armaan is right after all.
Elsewhere, Armaan writes Abhira’s name with his and says he’s ready to spend his life with her. Abhira, however, decides she’s willing to wait for Dadi’s blessing before marrying. Ruhi shows up and argues with Abhira, who asks her to mind her own business.
The next morning, Rohit notices Ruhi applying Chuna. She explains that it darkens her mehendi and is part of her effort to strengthen their bond. She kept a fast and applied mehendi with his name, proving her commitment. Rohit smiles and walks away. Ruhi then says to herself that she needs to talk to Dadi.
Later, Manish and Surekha arrive at the Poddar house. Though Manish appears annoyed, everyone greets them warmly. Just then, a man shows up asking to deliver keys to Armaan. Ruhi takes them, learning that they’re for Armaan’s new house and that he plans to move there after his wedding today. Shocked, she resolves to talk to Dadi and stop him from leaving the house.
