Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 19th August 2024 Written Episode Update starts with Anupama and Abhira tying Rakhi to Kanha ji and praying. Dadi is seen happily decorating a special gift for her husband’s sister, Leela, who’s visiting after a long time. She mentions hiring a top chef for the occasion. Meanwhile, Anupama arrives at Manish’s home for Raksha Bandhan and is warmly welcomed by the family. She brings along Nandita from Aasha Bhawan to help in the kitchen.
At the Poddar house, Armaan and Abhira share a sweet moment. Abhira subtly asks what name he might call her after marriage. Armaan reassures her that her name, given by her parents, carries their blessings and he would never want to change that. He cherishes their couple name “Abhimaan” and says it’s irreplaceable.
As Anupama prepares food, Dadi is shocked to learn the chef she hired had an accident. Abhira tries to help, but Dadi distrusts her. Anupama steps in and agrees to manage everything. Later, Abhira introduces Anupama to Dadi’s guests, including Vanraj and Leela. Vanraj mocks Anupama’s past and her failed relationships, which shocks Dadi. She regrets inviting Anupama without knowing her background.
Abhira confides in Anupama about Dadi’s demand to change her name to “Pratima.” She reveals her name holds deep meaning as it contains her parents’ names – Abhinav and Akshara – and she can’t part with that identity. Anupama supports her, emphasizing that identity is as important as love. Ruhi overhears and informs Leela that Anupama is influencing Abhira.
Dadi later challenges Anupama in front of everyone, saying a cook has no right to question family matters. Abhira defends her, saying her name is all she inherited from her parents, and she won’t give it up. Armaan also supports Abhira and states that if she’s forced to change her name, he too will give up his name, as it would be an insult to their love.
Tensions rise, but Abhira and Anupama stand firm. They explain that while families are important, a woman’s identity and self-respect are equally vital. Armaan and the others applaud their courage. The atmosphere softens as Manish suggests celebrating the festival. Everyone ties Rakhis, dances to Ghoomar, and celebrates Raksha Bandhan joyfully.
