The episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on 20th October 2024 begins with Armaan emotionally confessing to Dadi that he loves Abhira deeply and can’t live without her. Dadi gently asks if he believes Abhira would ever lie to him for the wrong reason. Armaan says no. Dadi tells him to hold on to that faith and remember her words. She explains that she understands Abhira’s pain because their situations are similar — both are dealing with unspoken emotions and strained bonds. Armaan wipes his tears and says Dadi has always supported Abhira more than anyone. Dadi replies that she’s only trying to understand her better than others do.
Meanwhile, Abhira, in her room, decides that she can no longer hide the truth from Armaan. She picks up a lipstick and writes on the mirror — “We are pregnant, Armaan…” before breaking down.
Elsewhere, Manisha gives a pair of earrings to Charu as a pre-engagement gift. Charu thanks her but hesitates, saying they look expensive. Manoj tells her not to worry about the cost, but Sanjay taunts that she will care if she notices the price tag. A heated argument breaks out when Sanjay accuses Manoj of buying the gift from a rival firm. Dadi arrives and scolds Vidya for allowing such family drama to unfold in front of guests.
Trying to change the atmosphere, Dadi reminds everyone about Karwa Chauth preparations. Manisha admits nothing has been started yet. Charu innocently asks why only wives fast for their husbands. Dadi smiles and says the fast represents love and devotion — wives pray for their husbands’ long life and happiness, and husbands, in return, give gifts and renew their love. She says Karwa Chauth is a reminder for couples to give their marriage another chance. Abhira becomes emotional, remembering the doctor’s warning about her health. She thinks to herself that Armaan will panic if he finds out now and decides to tell him the truth after Karwa Chauth. She wipes off the lipstick message from the mirror just as Armaan enters.
He asks if she wrote something on the mirror. Abhira nervously lies, saying she was only checking her lipstick shade. Armaan teases her and promises to buy her a new one. When she mentions fasting for Karwa Chauth, Armaan lovingly says he will fast too, declaring, “I love you, Abhira.” She smiles and hugs him tightly.
In another part of the house, Vidya and Ruhi prepare gifts for the festival. Rohit insists Ruhi shouldn’t fast since she’s pregnant, but Ruhi stubbornly says she’s consulted her doctor and is healthy enough. Vidya sides with Ruhi, saying it’s fine to keep the fast as long as she’s careful.
Charu talks to Neeraj on a video call. He shows her sarees he bought for his mother and for her. Charu asks if he expects her to fast for him. Neeraj smiles and says it’s her choice — he believes in equality and will keep the fast with her if she wishes to. Charu blushes, feeling reassured.
Meanwhile, Kajal informs Dadi that Mala asked whether Charu will keep the fast. Dadi replies that Charu isn’t married yet, so she doesn’t need to. Elsewhere, Krish questions Sanjay about insulting Manoj earlier, but Sanjay scolds him. Kajal then mentions to Dadi that Vidya distributed sarees to everyone except Abhira. Dadi becomes furious hearing this.
The next morning, Vidya lovingly feeds Ruhi sargi. Manisha joins them and says she has an idea — Aryan will record videos of all the couples celebrating Karwa Chauth. Ruhi jokes that Vidya should also feed sweets to Manisha. Vidya laughs it off. Ruhi then teasingly says Dadi must have sent sargi for her too. Vidya shrugs and says Dadi is unwell, so she couldn’t send anything. Just then, Dadi enters and says sternly that she may be hurt but not helpless. She scolds Vidya for forgetting traditions. Kajal walks in with trays of sargi for Vidya and Manisha.
As everyone sits down, Dadi asks where Abhira is. Kajal says Dadi has called her. Abhira arrives, and Dadi warmly hands her a saree and jewellery. Dadi says, “My saas gave this to me, and now I’m giving it to you. It’s a part of our family’s lineage — meant only for the most special bahu.” Abhira gets emotional and thanks her. Dadi then asks Kajal to bring sargi for Abhira. Vidya interrupts, saying it’s finished as she only prepared for Ruhi. Dadi taunts her sharply. Abhira stops them, saying Dadi’s blessings are enough and she’ll eat something later.
Later, Armaan surprises Abhira by bringing her sargi himself. He apologizes that he couldn’t make traditional dishes and instead got ice cream, toast, and chocolate. Abhira laughs at his efforts, and he gets mock-upset, saying she shouldn’t make fun of him. She thanks him lovingly, calling it the most special sargi she’s ever had. They eat together, smiling and sharing a light-hearted moment.
