Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 16th August 2024 Written Update: The episode begins with Armaan and Abhira feeling elated that Dadisa has finally agreed to their marriage. Abhira is overwhelmed, remembering how Dadi once called her a problem, and now she’s accepted them. Armaan says he now realizes how lucky he is to be surrounded by love. Abhira teases him with a punch, reminding him this is real, not a dream.
Meanwhile, Dadi and Rohit visit the temple. In a flashback, Rohit warns Dadi that if she doesn’t support Armaan and Abhira’s marriage, he will leave the family business. Back to the present, Dadi prays that the marriage happens smoothly. Vidya joins them and insists on completing all rituals properly this time, since the previous wedding happened in a hospital. Dadi agrees, and Vidya is thrilled.
Later, Armaan and Abhira share a romantic moment. He feeds her sweets, and she does his aarti. She tries to take his blessings, but he stops her and instead kisses her hands. The next morning, Dadi wakes up startled to find Abhira standing in her room. Abhira playfully thanks Dadi for accepting her and promises to become her favorite one day. She bows down, seeking blessings and admits she has flaws but wants to grow with her support. Dadi blesses her with a soft smile as Abhira exits—though not before accidentally bursting balloons and apologizing again.
Wedding preparations begin as the family gathers to see the wedding invitation cards. Abhira is amazed by their size, while Armaan jokes around. Manisha and others celebrate the unexpected but joyful change in Dadi’s stance. Aryan reminds Manisha of her promise to stay silent if Dadi agreed, which she jokingly denies.
Just then, Ruhi walks in, takes a wedding card, and tears it apart. Rohit approaches her, expressing that now Armaan and Abhira are focused on their marriage, and they can focus on their relationship. Ruhi pretends to be fine, saying if he’s happy, she’s happy. But her hidden rage is evident.
Meanwhile, Armaan flirts with Abhira, whistling at her. She warns him not to act cheesy, or she’ll call off the wedding. He insists she never say that, even as a joke, and the two share a romantic exchange. Suddenly, Abhira notices Dadi watching them. Armaan doesn’t believe her until Dadi scolds them and walks off. The couple laughs over the moment. But Ruhi, watching from a distance, fumes and mutters that Armaan and Abhira’s love story will end.
