As Poonam stood in the kitchen, she gazed at her husband’s photo and recalled the difficult moment when he had made her promise not to tell Shlok the truth about his passing. Sumeet could relate to her sorrow and offered words of comfort. He understood Poonam’s worry about Shlok not being able to perform the Shradh puja for his father. However, Sumeet suggested that even by simply touching the puja plate, Shlok could bring peace to his father’s soul. Dadi had mentioned that through this act, Shlok would also become a part of the puja.
As Shlok prepares for Janmashtami with Raj and his uncle, Sumeet enters and asks him to hold a covered plate. Shlok’s mother worries that Shlok will understand the puja plate is for a memorial.
Priyanka is about to open it, when his mother interrupts and asks Sumeet to fetch the puja thali. Sumeet tells Shlok to pass her the thali, emphasizing the fact that their son will have a role in his father’s memorial this time. Raj accidentally drops a flower basket and apologizes to Priyanka, who apologizes for misunderstanding him as well. Priyanka expresses her desire to win the task to protect Shlok as well. Raj assures Priyanka that he considers her family as his own and supports Sumeet and her brother.
Poonam is concerned about Shagun sharing the truth about Shlok’s father’s passing. Shagun and Raunak are curious about the quiet surroundings and the whereabouts of others. Suddenly, drums start to play and individuals wearing masks make an entrance. Annoyed, Shagun assumes this is Sumeet’s way of keeping her from Shlok, but she remains determined to confess today. Demanding everyone to remove their masks, Shagun is stopped by drummers as Sumeet steps forward and reveals herself.
Shlok becomes impatient as she realizes why his father doesn’t care about him and his family, and she intends to reveal the truth to him today, believing he’ll lose his mind. He feels guilty about not being able to tell him the truth, so Sumeet encourages Shlok to complete the task. As they start forming a human pyramid to break the handi, Shagun cannot get close to Shlok due to the crowd. They work together to reach the top of the pyramid.
A priest, however, is bribed by Raunak to call Poonam and change the location of the puja. Raunak and Shagun use flashlights to make Shlok look toward his mother, who is performing his father’s shradh puja as Sumeet and Shlok reach the top of the pyramid. Shlok loses his composure as he realizes his father is no longer with them, falls, and lies unconscious on the ground.
