When Anupama became pregnant after Toshu, everyone assumed she would have a baby girl. However, to their surprise, Samar was born – a beautiful child with fair skin. Anupama confesses that she was afraid to even touch him, fearful that something might happen to him. Vanraj adds that he was quite mischievous from the start. Anupama remembers how he always stayed in her lap while Toshu was often by Vanraj’s side. When Paakhi came along, she became part of Vanraj’s team. Anupama explains how Baa used to be on Vanraj’s team while Babu ji defended her, but Samar belonged to her. Overcome with emotion, Anupama reflects on how life has taught them many lessons, but never how to cope without their beloved son.

Vanraj mentions how a son lights his father’s funeral pyre, but I am the one who lit my own son’s and breaks down in tears. Anuj overhears and becomes upset. Later, everyone gathers for the mourning ceremony. The women engage in idle chatter and discuss how Dimpy will cope now that her luck has run out. Anupama scolds them, urging them to support Dimpy instead of discouraging her. She reminds them that the baby has lost both his father and his family is still present with him. Anupama embraces Dimpy and cries with her. Vanraj orders Anuj to leave and never return to them or Anupama again. Frustrated, Anuj exclaims that he is innocent, but Vanraj attempts to push him out when a photo frame of Samar falls off the wall, startling everyone. As they all stand in shock, Anupama calmly picks up the frame and puts it back in its place. She pleads with Vanraj to stop his aggression and joins them at the scene.

Anuj defends himself, stating that he was unable to tolerate the man’s mistreatment of the girl. He assures everyone that his wife truly understands him and even hears his heart beating. Anuj insists that he had no idea Samar would lose his life and maintains his innocence. He fondly recalls how he used to affectionately call Samar “buddy” and expresses disbelief that Samar would take his own life. However, Anupama interjects, reminding them that regardless of who is at fault, the pain of losing Samar remains just as piercing. She tearfully declares that this pain is now her final gift from her beloved son, and she asks for space to experience it before leaving. Anupama sadly concludes by stating that they simply cannot understand the depth of her grief as she has lost her son.

Anuj expresses his understanding of the pain. Anupama points out that he cannot fully comprehend it since he did not lose his son, and asks him to leave. He gently holds her saree pallu and reminds her to take care. With a heavy heart, Anuj exits the room as Vanraj watches on. The memories of the recent events flood back for Anuj. He sits down beside his car and confesses that even Anu believes he took away her happiness, when all he wanted to do was help them. Babu ji inquires about Baa’s medication, to which she urges him to take it. Reluctantly, Babu ji takes the medicine and laments the agony that they are forced to endure. Baa encourages them to continue living for their children, despite witnessing their grandson’s tragic passing firsthand.

Babu ji believes that life is limited for us, but others like Anupama and Dimpy have plenty of time ahead. He approaches Anupama, urging her to enjoy life while she can. However, Anupama declines. Babu ji explains that as a mother, it’s important to nourish oneself for the sake of the child, even if one doesn’t feel like eating. He tries to convince her by offering her food so that she can then feed Dimpy. Baa also intervenes by feeding Vanraj and reminding him to take care of their other children, Toshu and Paakhi. She assures Anupama will handle Dimpy’s needs. Later, Anupama enters Dimpy’s room and sees her resting in bed with Samar’s t-shirt beside her.

When Anupama wipes Maa off the slate, Samar asks why she did it. Anupama responds, “I’m not a good mother.” Samar asks her to come out of trauma and bring everyone out with her as well. She promises him that she will bring everyone out of trauma and that every time she thinks of him, she will smile.
